Summary

This 2020 Nissan Patrol in SE Platinum City trim is a standout choice for GCC buyers, combining the reliable 4.0L V6 powertrain with high-tier luxury features typically reserved for V8 models. Its black exterior is a highly sought-after resale color in the UAE and wider region, ensuring it holds its value better than more niche shades. With mileage that reflects typical highway-heavy use for its age, this vehicle remains mechanically fresh and ready for the region's demands. The Patrol's legendary cooling system and robust build make it one of the few vehicles that truly masters the GCC’s extreme summer heat and long-distance desert drives. For any local buyer, the unmatched parts availability and specialized service expertise available across all seven Emirates make this a low-risk, high-prestige investment.

This Car vs Other 2020 Patrols

At 83,271 km, this Patrol has been driven approximately 20,000 km per year, which is considered average to low for a full-size SUV in the GCC where long-distance commuting is standard. While many 2020 models on the market have already crossed the 100,000 km mark, this example offers a mechanical advantage for those seeking long-term ownership. The black-on-tan color combination is one of the most liquid configurations in the used market, significantly shortening the time to sell when you decide to upgrade.

SE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The SE Platinum City is the highest evolution of the V6 range, adding significant prestige over the SE Titanium and T2 trims. It introduces 20-inch machine-cut alloy wheels and the 'City' bumper for a more sophisticated road presence. Inside, it upgrades the cabin with premium quilted leather seats featuring both heating and ventilation for the front row, a power-adjustable steering column with memory, and the Intelligent Around View Monitor which makes parking this large SUV effortless.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

Compared to rivals like the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado or Ford Expedition, the Patrol leads with its superior 8-seat cabin volume and a massive 140-liter fuel tank capacity, which is essential for cross-border GCC road trips. Unlike many crossovers in this class, the Patrol retains a genuine body-on-frame construction and a low-range transfer case, providing a level of durability in sand and rocky terrain that road-biased competitors cannot match.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 offers a more balanced fuel consumption profile for daily city driving compared to the larger V8, typically averaging 11.8L/100km. Service intervals are standardized at 10,000 km across a massive network of authorized centers including Al Masaood and Arabian Automobiles, ensuring you are never far from expert support. Historically, the Patrol retains roughly 80% of its value over three years in the UAE, outperforming almost every other luxury SUV in its segment.

Performance & Capability

Generating 275 hp and 394 Nm of torque, the V6 engine provides smooth, linear power suitable for high-speed highway cruising and overtaking. The All-Wheel Drive system features selectable terrain modes—Sand, On-road, Snow, and Rock—which optimize the 7-speed automatic transmission for the GCC's varied surfaces. With a ground clearance of approximately 273 mm, it comfortably navigates deep sand during weekend desert excursions without compromising on-road refinement.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for family logistics, offering a genuinely usable third row and a total capacity for eight passengers. GCC-specific comfort is prioritized with a powerful tri-zone climate control system and dedicated cooling vents for all three rows to combat 45°C+ summer peaks. Premium touches include wood-grain trim, a 13-speaker Bose audio system, and rear entertainment screens that keep younger passengers occupied during long drives to Salalah or Al Ula.

Safety

This trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention, Lane Departure Warning, and Forward Collision Warning with Pedestrian Detection. The 360° camera system is particularly useful in tight urban parking, while the standard fitment of side and curtain airbags provides peace of mind for family transport. These active systems are specifically tuned to handle the high-speed, multi-lane traffic environments common in major GCC cities.

The bottom line

Perfect for the growing family that wants the prestige and capability of a Patrol with the sensible running costs of a V6, this high-spec Platinum City model is a rare, well-maintained find in the current market.
