Summary

This 2020 Nissan Rogue SV is a highly practical family crossover that balances fuel efficiency with all-wheel-drive capability, making it a reliable choice for the UAE's varied driving conditions. Finished in silver—a top-tier color for heat reflection and resale value in the GCC—this mid-trim SV model offers a significant technology upgrade over the base trim without the higher maintenance costs of larger-wheeled variants. With its user-friendly cabin and proven 2.5L powertrain, it stands as a competitive alternative to the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V. For a buyer in the region, the widespread availability of parts and Nissan’s massive service footprint ensure long-term peace of mind and predictable running costs.

This Car vs Other 2020 Rogues

At 122,000 km, this Rogue’s mileage is exactly in line with the GCC average of 25,000 km per year, indicating it has been driven regularly on regional highways rather than sitting idle. The silver exterior is a strategic choice for the Middle East, as it stays cooler in the summer sun and holds its market value better than darker shades. While this is an American spec model, the mechanical components are largely shared with GCC versions, ensuring easy maintenance at local workshops.

SV vs Lower Trims

The SV trim is a major step up from the base S model, adding GCC-essential features like a remote engine start system with intelligent climate control to cool the cabin before you enter. It also introduces a motion-activated power liftgate, dual-zone automatic temperature control, and an 8-way power driver's seat with lumbar support. Safety is further enhanced with the addition of Rear Automatic Braking and rear parking sensors, which are not standard on the entry-level trim.

Rogue vs Segment Rivals

The Rogue leads many rivals in interior flexibility thanks to its 'Divide-N-Hide' cargo system, which is particularly useful for organized family trips. Compared to the Toyota RAV4, the Rogue offers a more cushioned ride quality that excels on long commutes between Sharjah and Dubai. Its all-wheel-drive system provides extra stability on rain-slicked roads or gravel tracks, offering more confidence than front-wheel-drive competitors in the compact SUV segment.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy for this AWD 2.5L engine averages approximately 8.7 L/100km, which is efficient for daily stop-and-go city traffic in the UAE. Maintenance is straightforward, with Nissan's authorized service centers like Al Masaood and Arabian Automobiles providing comprehensive coverage across the Emirates. The Rogue traditionally sees a depreciation of roughly 10% annually in the GCC market, making it one of the better-retaining vehicles in its class, especially when maintained with genuine parts.

Performance & Capability

The 170 hp 2.5L engine is tuned for smooth, linear power delivery, making highway overtaking predictable and safe. With 213 mm of ground clearance, this crossover easily handles high speed bumps and provides enough capability for light weekend adventures on firm sand or gravel paths. The Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system actively manages power between the front and rear wheels to optimize traction, ensuring a stable drive during the region's occasional heavy sandstorms or rain.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Rogue SV features Nissan's 'Zero Gravity' seats, designed to reduce fatigue during long cross-country drives to Oman or Abu Dhabi. The dual-zone climate control is powerful enough to combat 45°C+ summer peaks, while the rear cooling vents ensure passengers in the back remain comfortable. The cabin is well-insulated from exterior road noise, providing a quiet environment for the 6-speaker audio system and seamless Apple CarPlay integration.

Safety

This SV trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, both vital for navigating busy multi-lane UAE highways. It also features standard Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection and Intelligent Lane Intervention. These active systems provide an extra layer of protection against the unpredictable nature of heavy traffic, making it one of the more safety-conscious choices in the used crossover market.

The bottom line

This Rogue SV is the ideal match for a value-conscious family looking for a reliable AWD crossover that is already equipped for the GCC's extreme summer climate. Its popular silver finish and well-maintained mileage make it a safe investment for those prioritizing long-term resale and low ownership stress.
