Summary

This 2021 M4 Competition represents the first year of the G82 generation, featuring a significant leap in power and chassis rigidity over its predecessor. With under 35,000 km on the clock, this car has been driven less than the typical 20,000 km annual average for the UAE, making it a highly desirable example for performance seekers. The Blue exterior is a sharp, high-visibility choice that holds strong appeal in the GCC resale market compared to more common monochromatic tones. As a Competition trim, it bridges the gap between a daily luxury coupe and a track-ready weapon, offering an ideal balance for the fast-paced highways of Dubai or Abu Dhabi. For a GCC buyer, the primary consideration is the superior cooling capacity and regional warranty support that comes with this verified regional spec.

This Car vs Other 2021 M4s

At 34,962 km, this M4 has seen roughly 7,000 km of use per year, which is exceptionally low for a GCC-spec vehicle where long-distance commuting often doubles that figure. This low-mileage status ensures the S58 engine and interior components remain in prime condition. Furthermore, being a genuine GCC spec provides peace of mind regarding cooling systems and electronics specifically calibrated for the extreme heat of the Arabian Peninsula.

Competition vs Lower Trims

The Competition trim is a significant upgrade over the standard M4, bumping output by 30 hp and increasing torque to 650 Nm. It replaces the manual gearbox with a lightning-fast 8-speed M Steptronic transmission, which is far better suited for GCC city traffic and high-speed highway merging. Additionally, you receive staggered 19-inch front and 20-inch rear M-forged wheels and extended Shadowline exterior trim as standard.

M4 vs Segment Rivals

The M4 Competition leads rivals like the Audi RS5 and Mercedes-AMG C63 S in pure chassis agility and cooling efficiency, which is vital during GCC summer months. While the Audi utilizes AWD, the M4's rear-wheel-drive setup offers a more traditional and engaging sports car feel that enthusiasts in the region prize. Its iDrive 7.0 system also remains a benchmark for ease of use compared to the older interfaces in similar-aged competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically hovers around 10.2 L/100km, though this will increase in stop-start traffic in Riyadh or Dubai. BMW’s authorized service network is extensive across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts and expert technicians are never far away. The M4 Competition historically retains its value better than the base model in the GCC, with depreciation rates for well-maintained, low-mileage G82 units remaining remarkably stable.

Performance & Capability

The 3.9-second sprint to 100 km/h is just the beginning; the M4 Competition is engineered for high-speed stability on the long desert stretches between emirates. The M-specific adaptive suspension allows you to soften the ride for the daily commute or stiffen it for weekend sessions at Dubai Autodrome. With 503 hp on tap, highway overtaking is effortless even at higher cruising speeds.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features M Sport seats with aggressive bolstering that are heated and power-adjustable, ensuring comfort during long cross-border drives. BMW’s dual-zone climate control is renowned for its ability to handle 45°C+ temperatures, maintaining a consistent chill throughout the cabin. The digital cockpit and large infotainment screen provide a high-tech environment that still feels modern five years into the vehicle's life.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes Front Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Blind Spot Detection, which is essential for navigating the multi-lane highways of the GCC. The M-specific braking system provides massive stopping power with fade resistance, a critical factor for heavy performance cars in high-ambient-temperature environments. Adaptive LED headlights also improve visibility significantly during night-time desert driving.

The bottom line

For the GCC enthusiast, this low-mileage, blue M4 Competition is the perfect entry into the G82 generation, offering a verified regional spec and the highest performance tier available for the 2021 model year.
