• 240 km/h top speed
• 7.8 L/100km combined fuel economy

Summary

This 2021 Cadillac CT5 represents a smart entry point into the executive sedan market, offering a sophisticated RWD platform that rivals the driving dynamics of its German competitors. With only 57,000 km, its mileage is significantly lower than the GCC average for a three-year-old vehicle, making it a mechanically fresh choice for daily commuting. The Black exterior is a perennial favorite in the UAE and Saudi markets, ensuring the strongest possible resale demand when it’s time to upgrade. As a Premium Luxury trim, it balances efficient 4-cylinder turbocharged power with a cabin environment designed for refinement rather than just raw speed. It is a standout choice for those who value American luxury and striking design without the higher running costs of a V6 or V8 engine.

This Car vs Other 2021 Cadillac CT5s

At 57,000 km, this CT5 has been driven approximately 19,000 km per year, which is comfortably below the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen across the GCC. While it is a Canadian-spec vehicle, it shares the same robust 2.0L turbocharged powertrain found in local models, and the Black-on-Black configuration remains the most sought-after color combination for retaining value in the regional used market.

PREMIUM LUXURY vs Lower Trims

The Premium Luxury trim is a significant step up from the base Luxury model, adding essential regional features like leather upholstery instead of synthetic leatherette. It also introduces critical safety and convenience tech including blind-spot monitoring, ambient interior lighting, and a wireless charging pad, all of which are standard here rather than paid extras.

CT5 vs Segment Rivals

The CT5 competes directly with the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, standing out by offering a physically larger footprint and longer wheelbase for a more imposing road presence. Its 10-speed automatic transmission provides smoother shifts during high-speed highway cruising across the Emirates compared to the 8 or 9-speed units found in many European rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Cadillac’s 2.0L engine is remarkably efficient for its size, achieving approximately 7.8 L/100km on combined cycles, though GCC stop-start traffic will see city figures closer to 10 L/100km. Service is widely available through authorized centers like Al Ghandi in the UAE and Aljomaih in Saudi Arabia, typically following 10,000 km intervals. While American luxury sedans depreciate faster than Japanese luxury brands, the CT5's unique styling helps it hold value better than previous Cadillac sedan generations.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 2.0L twin-scroll turbocharged engine, this sedan produces 237 hp and a robust 350 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in 6.6 seconds. The Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) architecture provides a balanced, athletic feel that is perfectly suited for the well-maintained highways of the GCC. The 10-speed transmission ensures the engine stays in its optimal power band, making highway overtaking effortless.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior features genuine leather surfaces and 14-way power-adjustable front seats, providing the necessary support for long-distance drives between cities. The dual-zone automatic climate control is designed to handle extreme summer heat, while acoustic laminated glass helps keep the cabin hushed at high cruising speeds. Cadillac's CUE system is displayed on a crisp 10-inch touchscreen, providing seamless integration for modern smartphone users.

Safety

This trim includes a comprehensive safety suite featuring Forward Collision Alert and Automatic Emergency Braking, which are vital for fast-moving highway traffic. It also comes standard with Cadillac’s Safety Alert Seat, which uses haptic vibrations to warn the driver of potential hazards. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert provide additional peace of mind during lane changes and parking in busy urban areas.

The bottom line

For the buyer seeking a modern, low-mileage executive sedan that breaks away from the German norm, this black CT5 offers the perfect blend of American style and daily efficiency.
