Summary

This 2024 Ford Taurus Ambiente offers a refined driving experience with a modern aesthetic, making it an ideal choice for professionals and families in the GCC. With mileage well below the regional annual average, this sedan presents a significant advantage for those seeking a near-new vehicle without the showroom price tag. The Absolute Black exterior is a perennially strong resale color in the UAE and wider Gulf markets, ensuring better value retention over time. As Ford's flagship sedan in the region, the Taurus stands out for its superior highway stability and generous rear-cabin space compared to its immediate rivals. For a GCC buyer, the combination of advanced interior tech and a powertrain optimized for long-distance cruising makes this a highly practical and comfortable daily driver.

This Car vs Other 2024 Taurus

With just 22,665 km, this Taurus is significantly below the typical 25,000 km annual average for the GCC, indicating it has been used lightly primarily for city commutes. The Absolute Black finish is one of the most sought-after colors in the local used market, often commanding a quicker sale and stronger price than more niche shades. Choosing a low-mileage GCC-spec unit like this ensures full compatibility with local service centers and maintains the integrity of the vehicle's mechanical history.

Ambiente vs Lower Trims

As the foundational trim for the new generation, the Ambiente comes impressively equipped with the high-definition 13.2-inch touchscreen and SYNC 4 system that many rivals only offer on top-tier variants. It includes essential GCC features such as a standard sunroof and a rear-view camera, which are often costly additions in this segment. While higher trims add leather and 360-degree cameras, the Ambiente offers the most balanced value proposition by retaining the same powerful EcoBoost engine and core safety tech.

Taurus vs Segment Rivals

The Taurus leads segment rivals like the Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima in terms of sheer interior volume, particularly rear-seat legroom, which is vital for family comfort during long cross-border drives. Its 520-liter boot capacity outperforms several competitors, easily accommodating large luggage sets for airport runs or weekend trips. Furthermore, the 240 hp EcoBoost engine provides a more substantial power reserve for highway overtaking than the standard naturally aspirated units found in many mid-size sedans.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel efficiency is a standout feature, with manufacturer figures reaching 15.3 km/L, though GCC city traffic typically sees averages around 9.5 km/L. Ford maintains an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring that parts and expert maintenance are never far away. The Taurus has historically shown strong value retention in the GCC, typically saving approximately 60% of its value after three years, which is competitive for a premium American sedan.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine delivers a robust 240 hp and 388 Nm of torque, enabling smooth acceleration and a top speed of approximately 218 km/h. This powertrain is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission designed for seamless gear changes, which is particularly noticeable during high-speed highway cruising between emirates. With selectable drive modes including Eco, Normal, and Sport, the Taurus can adapt its throttle response and steering weight to suit either congested city centers or open desert roads.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed as a quiet sanctuary, utilizing extensive sound-deadening materials to isolate passengers from the extreme heat and road noise common in the Gulf. It comfortably seats five adults, featuring a single-zone high-performance AC system designed to handle 45°C+ summer temperatures with ease. The centerpiece of the interior is the massive 13.2-inch digital cockpit, which provides intuitive access to navigation and media while keeping the driver focused on the road.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this GCC-spec Ambiente includes six airbags, a rear-view camera, and Electronic Stability Control, which is essential for maintaining traction on sand-dusted road surfaces. The vehicle is also equipped with Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPMS) and Hill Start Assist, providing peace of mind during daily commutes. These active systems work together to ensure the Taurus meets high safety standards, making it a reliable choice for family-oriented buyers.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a modern, low-mileage sedan with executive presence and excellent fuel economy, this 2024 Taurus Ambiente represents a smart, high-value alternative to a new showroom purchase.
