Summary

This 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLA250 stands out as a high-tech entry into the executive segment, offering the sure-footedness of 4MATIC all-wheel drive. With its sleek blue finish—a color that maintains steady demand in the UAE's vibrant secondary market—it bridges the gap between a daily commuter and a premium weekend cruiser. The 2024 model year is particularly attractive as it includes the most recent MBUX software updates and enhanced mild-hybrid efficiency. For GCC buyers, the balance of European refinement and the added safety of all-wheel traction makes this a versatile choice for both high-speed inter-city commutes and navigating unpredictable weather. It represents a smart acquisition for those seeking the prestige of a three-pointed star with modern, low-mileage reliability.

This Car vs Other 2024 CLA250s

With 30,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits slightly above the regional average for a one-year-old car but reflects the typical highway-heavy usage patterns found in the UAE. Its American specification provides a competitive price point compared to local regional counterparts, while the striking blue exterior remains a popular alternative to standard white and silver. The 2024 model year benefits from the most recent mid-cycle refresh, ensuring the latest lighting and cabin technology.

PREMIUM vs Lower Trims

The Premium trim significantly upgrades the cabin experience over base models, moving from the smaller dual 7-inch displays to the more immersive 10.25-inch digital cockpit and touchscreen. It also adds standard proximity entry (Keyless-Go) and power-folding, auto-dimming mirrors, features that are highly valued by GCC drivers for convenience in tight city parking. The inclusion of the 48V mild-hybrid system on this trim provides smoother stop-start transitions during heavy traffic in Riyadh or Dubai.

CLA250 vs Segment Rivals

The CLA250 leads rivals like the Audi A3 and BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe in aerodynamic efficiency, resulting in a quieter cabin during long highway drives across the Emirates. Its distinctive 'four-door coupe' silhouette offers a more aggressive aesthetic than the traditional sedan profiles of its competitors. Furthermore, the 4MATIC system provides superior wet-weather confidence compared to front-wheel-drive competitors in the same bracket.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this mild-hybrid powertrain averages approximately 8.3 L/100km in combined GCC conditions, though highway cruising can drop figures significantly lower. Maintenance is supported by a comprehensive network of specialized European workshops and authorized centers across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts availability. In the GCC market, the CLA typically sees a stable depreciation rate of approximately 12–15% annually, holding value better than larger, more complex luxury sedans.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0-litre turbocharged engine delivers a verified 0–100 km/h time of 6.4 seconds, providing plenty of punch for overtaking on fast-moving highways like the E11. With 221 hp and 4MATIC all-wheel drive, the car remains planted and predictable even during high-temperature summer drives. The 7-speed dual-clutch transmission is tuned for rapid, seamless shifting, which enhances the sporty character of this compact sedan.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features standard 64-color ambient lighting and dual-zone climate control, essential for maintaining a cool environment during peak summer heat. The 460-litre boot provides generous cargo space for a compact vehicle, easily accommodating golf bags or family groceries. Premium synthetic leather upholstery is designed for durability, resisting the wear typically caused by the intense local sun and frequent use.

Safety

This trim is equipped with a robust safety suite including Blind Spot Monitoring and Forward Collision Warning, both of which are critical for navigating multi-lane GCC highways. It also includes Active Brake Assist and Cross-Wind Assist as standard, helping the vehicle maintain stability during high-speed travel or sudden gusts on desert roads. The presence of a 360-degree camera system simplifies parking in the narrow spaces common in major urban centers.

The bottom line

This 2024 CLA250 is the perfect opportunity for an upwardly mobile professional seeking a modern, all-wheel-drive Mercedes with the latest digital tech at a significant saving over a showroom-fresh model.
