Summary

This 2021 Ferrari 812 GTS represents the rare opportunity to own Maranello’s final series-production naturally aspirated V12 convertible, a segment that is rapidly moving toward hybridisation. With just 12,000 km, this GCC-spec example sits well below the typical 25,000 km annual usage seen in the UAE, ensuring it remains in peak collector-grade condition. The white exterior is the highest-performing resale color in the regional market, offering a sophisticated contrast to the aggressive aerodynamic buttresses that define the GTS silhouette. While its rivals have turned to turbocharging, the 812 GTS remains the purist's choice for long-distance cruising between the Emirates, offering an unmatched soundtrack that can be enjoyed at the touch of a button. This is a definitive grand tourer that pairs daily-driver ergonomics with the ferocity of a frontline supercar.

This Car vs Other 2021 812s

With only 12,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has covered significantly less distance than the average 2021 model in the GCC, which typically accrues 20,000 km per year. The white exterior finish is highly sought after in the Dubai and Abu Dhabi markets, providing a distinct resale advantage over less conventional colors. Its GCC specification ensures full compliance with local regional standards, a critical factor for maintaining value and ease of service at authorized centers.

GTS vs Lower Trims

As the flagship open-top variant, the GTS adds a complex retractable hard top and reinforced chassis compared to the fixed-roof Superfast, while retaining nearly identical performance metrics. It features shorter gear ratios for more aggressive mid-range acceleration and an electric rear wind-stop that allows you to hear the V12 even with the roof up. This trim also includes advanced Side Slip Control 5.0 and Virtual Short Wheelbase 2.0 as standard, providing sharper turn-in for canyon drives or track sessions.

812 vs Segment Rivals

The 812 GTS stands apart from rivals like the Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster and McLaren 720S Spider by offering a front-engine grand touring layout that is vastly more practical for daily use. While the McLaren focuses on lightweight carbon construction, the Ferrari leads with its massive 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12, providing a linear power delivery and acoustic drama that turbocharged competitors cannot replicate. Its 92-litre fuel tank is specifically suited for long-distance highway travel across the GCC borders.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages 16.4 L/100km on a combined cycle, though GCC highway cruising can see slightly better efficiency during long-distance drives. As a late-model V12, it benefits from the 7-Year Genuine Maintenance program, which covers all factory-scheduled service at authorized Ferrari centers across the UAE and Saudi Arabia until 2028. The 812 GTS demonstrates exceptional value retention in the regional market, typically holding over 85% of its value after three years due to its status as one of the last non-hybrid Ferraris.

Performance & Capability

The 6.5-litre V12 produces 789 hp at a stratospheric 8,500 rpm, enabling a top speed of 340 km/h and a 0–200 km/h time of just 8.3 seconds. The rear-wheel-drive platform is managed by a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with gear changes that are virtually instantaneous. In the GCC context, the magnetic suspension allows for a comfortable ride over urban speed humps while remaining perfectly flat during high-speed highway overtaking.

Comfort & Cabin

The two-seat cockpit is a blend of traditional Italian leather craftsmanship and modern digital interfaces, designed to stay quiet even with the top down thanks to the electric rear screen. The air conditioning system is specifically engineered to handle extreme summer temperatures, ensuring the cabin remains cool even in 45°C heat. Cargo space remains usable at 210 litres, enough for a weekend getaway to the Northern Emirates without sacrificing the retractable roof functionality.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes Ferrari's advanced carbon-ceramic braking system (CCM4) for immense stopping power and fade resistance in high temperatures. The car is equipped with a full suite of electronic stability controls, including E-Diff3 and F1-Trac, which are essential for maintaining traction on sand-dusted road surfaces. Rear-view cameras and front/rear parking sensors are standard, aiding visibility in tight urban parking environments.

The bottom line

For the collector seeking the final evolution of the naturally aspirated Ferrari V12 Spider, this low-mileage, white GCC-spec GTS is the most logically sound and emotionally rewarding investment currently available in the region.
