Summary

This 2020 Ferrari 812 GTS represents a significant milestone in Maranello's history as the first series-production front-engine V12 convertible in half a century. With mileage at 21,198 km, this 6-year-old supercar has been driven just under 4,000 km annually, well below the GCC average for luxury grand tourers. The black exterior is a highly sought-after choice in the UAE, ensuring both thermal management and strong resale liquidity. As one of the final naturally aspirated, non-hybrid V12 flagships, this GTS offers a raw mechanical soul that is increasingly rare in the modern market. It is an exceptional opportunity for a collector seeking the peak of internal combustion performance with the versatility of an open-top experience.

This Car vs Other 2020 Ferrari 812s

With approximately 21,198 km on the odometer, this example shows low usage for a 6-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where annual averages often reach 20,000 km. Most comparable 812s in the region are used for weekend drives between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and this car's mileage suggests it has been kept as part of a curated collection. The black paint is a primary resale color in the Middle East, offering a timeless aesthetic that holds value better than more niche hues.

GTS vs Lower Trims

The GTS is the open-top counterpart to the 812 Superfast, introducing a retractable hardtop that transforms the cabin in just 14 seconds. Beyond the roof, the GTS features unique rear buttresses and a redesigned tail to optimize airflow for open-air driving in the GCC climate. It also includes the electric rear screen which serves as a wind-stop, a feature not available on the coupe, allowing you to enjoy the V12's shriek even with the roof closed.

812 vs Segment Rivals

The 812 GTS competes directly with the Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster and the Aston Martin DBS Volante. While rivals lean toward aggressive styling or classic GT softness, the Ferrari leads with its high-revving 9,200 RPM redline and sophisticated Virtual Short Wheelbase 2.0 rear-wheel steering. Its front-mid engine layout also provides significantly more practical boot space for regional road trips than its mid-engined competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Resale values for the 812 GTS remain exceptionally strong in the UAE, typically seeing lower annual depreciation than European rivals due to its status as one of the last naturally aspirated V12s. GCC-spec Ferraris benefit from a robust authorized service network through Al Tayer Motors and Premier Motors, ensuring parts and expert technicians are always accessible. Maintenance is typically scheduled every 20,000 km or annually, and this model remains highly desirable in the secondary market.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 6.5-litre V12 producing 789 hp (800 cv), the 812 GTS delivers a top speed of 340 km/h, matching the Superfast coupe despite the convertible hardware. The 7-speed dual-clutch transmission provides lightning-fast shifts that make highway overtaking effortless on the E11. Ferrari’s Side Slip Control 6.0 and E-Diff 3 work seamlessly to maintain traction on the sandy or dusty surfaces often found on coastal UAE roads.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is a focused two-seat cockpit featuring premium leather and the optional passenger display, allowing your co-driver to monitor speed and RPM. The dual-zone climate control is engineered to remain effective even during Dubai summers with the roof down, supported by powerful cooling vents. The GTS maintains the donor car's spacious cabin dimensions, ensuring long-distance comfort for cross-border drives to Oman or Saudi Arabia.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes high-performance carbon-ceramic brakes for immense stopping power and front and side airbags tailored for the convertible structure. Electronic stability control and F1-derived traction control provide essential security during high-speed highway cruising. The 360-degree camera and parking sensors are vital for navigating tight urban environments in Downtown Dubai or the Marina.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who demands the ultimate V12 soundtrack and open-air freedom, this low-mileage, GCC-spec 812 GTS is a premier investment in Ferrari's most celebrated engine lineage.
