When Tobias Moers took over the vehicle development for AMG in 2002, he set out to rework their model range to complement every Mercedes-Benz with an AMG variant, and worked on a no-nonsense front-mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive sports car for the serious driver, as opposed to the aesthetically nostalgic SLS. The result was the AMG GT, a car that shed all retro compromises and improved greatly on the sloppy dynamics of its contemporary 300SL tribute. It was a confident step ahead for Mercedes-Benz and AMG.
This AMG was offered in multiple variants: the GT (456hp), GT S (503hp), GT C (550hp), GT R (577hp) and GT R Pro (577hp as well), GT Black Series (720hp), GT2 Pro (739hp), each one with more lightweight and dynamic upgrades than the last —LSD, wider body, ride control, adjustable springs, wings, and antiroll bars, to name a few of these improvements across models. Limited thematic series, such as the Edition 50 (500), ‘Dark Knight Edition’ (2), ‘Track Series’ (55), and the GT3 Edition 55 (55), were also available across models.
This particular car, a single-owner Black Series, is finished in Magmabeam Orange and shows delivery mileage. The car comes with all manuals, tools, a first-aid kit, an inflator kit, a factory car cover, and several other accessories.
