Summary

This 2021 GLC 63 S AMG Coupe represents the peak of the V8 era, offering performance that rivals dedicated sports cars while maintaining everyday crossover utility. With mileage sitting just above the GCC annual average, this grey example offers a neutral, high-demand color palette that historically supports strong resale value in the UAE. The 'S' trim is the most sought-after variant in the Gulf, providing the maximum power output and mechanical upgrades that serious enthusiasts look for. Driving between Emirates is effortless thanks to the sophisticated air suspension and the relentless torque of the biturbo V8. For a buyer seeking the last of the pure V8 AMGs before the shift to hybrid four-cylinders, this listing is a compelling mechanical opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2021 GLC 63 AMG Ss

At 67,800 km, this vehicle has been driven slightly more than the typical 20,000 km per year seen in the GCC, but it remains within an acceptable range for a performance-focused daily driver. The Canadian regional specification means it lacks the factory-upgraded cooling systems found in GCC-spec models, which should be considered if the vehicle is used extensively during peak summer heat. However, the grey exterior is a top-tier choice for the local market, ensuring it remains desirable for future resale compared to unconventional colors.

S vs Lower Trims

The 'S' variant is a significant step up from the standard GLC 63, increasing output from 469 hp to 510 hp and unlocking a higher top speed of 280 km/h. Crucially for GCC drivers, the S trim adds dynamic engine mounts and a 'Race' drive mode, alongside standard interior upgrades like the Burmester surround-sound system and Nappa leather. These features are highly valued in the UAE used market, often commanding a price premium over the base V8 model.

GLC 63 AMG S vs Segment Rivals

The GLC 63 S Coupe leads rivals like the BMW X4 M Competition in terms of pure engine character, utilizing a larger 4.0L V8 compared to the BMW’s 3.0L inline-six. While the Porsche Macan Turbo offers slightly more clinical handling, the Mercedes provides a more aggressive exhaust note and 700 Nm of torque, which is ideal for high-speed highway overtaking on the E11. It also offers a more generous 500-liter boot capacity (seats up) than many dedicated sport-coupe crossovers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically averages around 12.4 L/100km, though this will increase significantly in stop-start Dubai traffic. As a Canadian import, buyers should verify service history carefully, as the official UAE agency may not provide the same warranty coverage as a GCC-spec vehicle. Parts are widely available through Mercedes-Benz's extensive network in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, though specialized AMG components may require shorter 10,000 km service intervals to maintain the hand-built V8.

Performance & Capability

The defining metric is the 3.8-second 0–100 km/h sprint, enabled by the 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system that can distribute power variably for maximum traction. The nine-speed multi-clutch transmission provides lightning-fast shifts, making it exceptionally capable during spirited drives through Jebel Jais or long highway cruises. With 510 hp on tap, this car maintains a performance envelope that few SUVs can match, even in the power-hungry GCC market.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features a driver-focused digital cockpit and high-quality materials suited for long-distance luxury. While the coupe silhouette gives it a sleek profile, it still comfortably seats five passengers, with dedicated rear climate vents to help manage the Middle Eastern summer. The MBUX infotainment system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen ensures that navigation and media are easily accessible during cross-border drives.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the S trim includes a 360-degree camera system for navigating tight parking in Downtown Dubai and a full suite of driver assists. Features like blind-spot monitoring and active brake assist are essential for high-speed multi-lane highways, while the adaptive LED headlights provide excellent visibility for night driving on unlit desert roads. The electronic limited-slip differential also ensures the car remains stable on sandy or gravel-strewn surfaces.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for an enthusiast who wants the raw power of an AMG V8 in a stylish coupe body, offering a significant performance advantage over the new four-cylinder models at a competitive price point for the UAE market.
