Summary

This 2022 BMW X6 xDrive M50i is a standout opportunity for GCC buyers, combining low mileage for its age with the region's highly preferred black exterior. As a top-tier M Performance model, it offers a significant power advantage over the standard six-cylinder trims, making it much better suited for high-speed highway stability across the Emirates. The M50i is known for holding its value better in the used market than the base xDrive40i due to its enthusiast appeal and higher standard specification. For those navigating the UAE's climate, the inclusion of ventilated front seats and a robust four-zone climate control system makes it a practical daily driver even in peak summer. With its aggressive styling and V8 soundtrack, it remains the benchmark for performance-oriented SUV crossovers in the region.

This Car vs Other 2022 X6s

At 34,000 km, this X6 has been driven significantly less than the 50,000–60,000 km typically expected for a 4-year-old vehicle in the GCC. The black exterior is a high-demand resale color in local markets like Dubai and Riyadh, ensuring a smoother exit when it's time to upgrade. Its low-mileage status and GCC specification make it a cleaner, more reliable prospect compared to high-mileage imports.

XDRIVE M50i vs Lower Trims

The M50i trim upgrades the standard six-cylinder to a potent 4.4L Twin-Turbo V8, nearly doubling the torque for effortless overtaking on long desert highways. It also adds performance-critical hardware as standard, including M Sport Brakes with blue calipers, an M Sport Differential, and an M Sport Exhaust system. Inside, you receive a premium 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system and ventilated front seats, features that are often optional on the xDrive40i.

X6 vs Segment Rivals

The BMW X6 competes directly with the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe and the Porsche Cayenne Coupe. It leads the segment in terms of aggressive 'Sports Activity Coupe' styling and intuitive tech, featuring the dual 12.3-inch digital display setup as standard. While rivals focus on air-suspension plushness, the X6 M50i provides a more driver-centric experience with sharper steering and a more vocal V8 powertrain.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the V8 averages approximately 11.5 L/100km on combined cycles, though GCC city traffic may see figures closer to 14 L/100km. BMW's Condition Based Service (CBS) system typically triggers maintenance every 10,000 to 12,000 km, with a widespread network of authorized centers across the UAE, KSA, and Kuwait. While European luxury SUVs depreciate faster than Japanese alternatives, the M50i retains a larger percentage of its value due to its status as a high-performance variant.

Performance & Capability

A 0–100 km/h time of just 4.3 seconds puts this SUV in sports car territory, powered by 523 hp and 750 Nm of torque. The xDrive all-wheel-drive system and M Sport Differential ensure maximum traction on both sun-baked asphalt and occasional gravel paths. With a top speed capped at 250 km/h and an 83-liter fuel tank, it is engineered for high-speed, long-distance travel between emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a five-seat layout featuring premium materials and advanced climate management essential for the GCC. The M50i includes ventilated seats to combat high summer temperatures and standard ambient lighting with six selectable designs. Passengers benefit from dedicated rear cooling vents and acoustic glass that significantly reduces wind noise during highway cruising.

Safety

Safety is managed by a full suite of ADAS features, including Active Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, and Frontal Collision Warning. These systems are particularly valuable on fast-moving GCC highways where lane-discipline and sudden stops are common. The X6 also features a high-definition 360-degree camera system and multiple airbags as standard to provide peace of mind for family use.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants the prestige of a BMW V8 and the practicality of a low-mileage GCC-spec SUV, this M50i is the perfect middle ground between a daily driver and a performance machine.
