Summary

This GCC-spec Tahoe LT offers the rare nine-seat configuration, making it a premier choice for large families in the region. The Black exterior is the most sought-after resale color in the UAE market, significantly helping value retention. At 184,000 km, the mileage reflects typical long-distance highway use between Emirates, a common trait for these durable 5.3L V8 engines. Choosing the LT trim provides essential comfort upgrades like leather seating and a power liftgate that base models lack. For the GCC buyer, the combination of a proven V8 and expansive cabin cooling makes this a reliable summer-ready workhorse.

This Car vs Other 2022 Tahoes

At four years old with 184,000 km, this vehicle sits above the average annual mileage for its year, yet this typically indicates consistent highway cruising rather than stop-start city wear. The Black paint remains a top-tier resale asset in the local market, commanding faster sales and better price stability than niche colors. Its specific nine-passenger layout is a significant differentiator, as most Tahoe listings are configured for only seven or eight seats.

LT vs Lower Trims

The LT trim adds high-value features over the base LS that are vital for the GCC climate, including a Bose nine-speaker premium audio system and leather-appointed seating. You also gain a hands-free power programmable liftgate and a larger 10.2-inch infotainment screen with Google built-in. These additions, along with wireless phone charging and driver memory settings, make the LT the preferred choice for family-oriented resale.

Tahoe vs Segment Rivals

The Tahoe leads rivals like the Ford Expedition and Nissan Patrol in cargo flexibility, offering a flatter load floor and superior third-row legroom for adult passengers. Its naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 is often preferred by GCC owners over smaller turbocharged competitors for its long-term heat tolerance and simpler maintenance. The 91-litre fuel tank ensures fewer stops during long-haul desert drives between cities.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.3L V8 engine averages approximately 14.5 L/100km in combined driving, with significantly better efficiency during steady 120 km/h highway cruises. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts are always accessible. Tahoes typically see a depreciation rate of 10-12% annually in the GCC, performing better than most European luxury SUV counterparts.

Performance & Capability

With a verified 3,719 kg towing capacity, this Tahoe is fully equipped for hauling boats or trailers across the Emirates. The 355 hp V8 provides smooth, linear power that is ideal for high-speed highway overtaking and heavy-load stability. Four-wheel drive capability ensures confidence when transitioning from paved roads to gravel or sandy weekend campsites.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is purpose-built for the GCC summer, featuring a powerful triple-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents for all three rows. The rare nine-seat layout utilizes a 40/20/40 split-bench front seat, providing maximum logistics flexibility for large families. Acoustic laminated glass and high-quality insulation keep the interior quiet and cool even during peak afternoon temperatures.

Safety

Safety is managed by the Chevy Safety Assist suite, which includes Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and Front Pedestrian Braking as standard. The LT trim also features Rear Park Assist and a High-Definition Rear Vision Camera, which are essential for navigating a vehicle of this size in tight urban parking. These active systems provide peace of mind during fast-moving highway traffic common in Dubai and Riyadh.

The bottom line

This Tahoe is the ideal match for a large family needing maximum seating capacity and a reliable V8 powertrain that handles the GCC climate with ease. It represents a smart buy for those prioritizing the high-demand Black-on-LT combination and a vehicle already proven for long-distance regional travel.
