Summary

This 2022 Range Rover HSE represents the first year of the highly sought-after L460 generation, featuring the potent 4.4L V8 engine that delivers 530 hp. In the GCC market, the Grey exterior is a high-demand, stable resale choice that balances elegance with practical heat management. With 99,000 km, this vehicle has been driven at a typical annual rate for UAE luxury SUVs, where highway commutes between cities are the norm. The HSE trim bridges the gap between standard luxury and flagship performance, offering the perfect blend of tech and prestige. It remains the segment benchmark for its ability to transition from high-speed highway cruising to refined city arrival without effort.

This Car vs Other 2022 Range Rovers

At 99,000 km, this vehicle reflects typical usage for a GCC-based luxury SUV, where average annual distances often reach 30,000 km due to frequent inter-emirate travel. Being the redesigned L460 model, it carries a significant value premium over the previous generation (L405) due to its superior chassis and BMW-sourced V8. The Grey finish is a strategic choice for the region, as it is easier to maintain in dusty conditions and holds stronger resale value than non-traditional colors.

HSE vs Lower Trims

The HSE trim provides a substantial equipment jump over the base SE, most notably adding the P530 V8 engine as an option and upgrading to perforated Windsor leather. GCC buyers will appreciate the standard ventilated seats and the 3D Surround Camera system, which are essential for summer comfort and navigating tight parking in urban centers like Dubai. It also includes All-Wheel Steering as standard, which significantly reduces the turning circle for a more car-like feel in city traffic.

Range Rover vs Segment Rivals

The Range Rover leads rivals like the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS with its genuine dual-purpose character, combining a 900 mm wading depth with peerless cabin quietness. While competitors focus primarily on road manners, this model features the Terrain Response 2 system, allowing it to handle sand and gravel with ease during weekend trips to the desert. Its 90-litre fuel tank also provides a superior cruising range for long-distance drives across the GCC.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.4L V8 typically averages around 11.5 L/100km, though this increases in stop-start city traffic typical of Riyadh or Dubai. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from a wide network of authorized Al Tayer or Euro Motors service centers, ensuring parts availability and proper cooling for the regional climate. This generation of Range Rover continues to show some of the strongest value retention in the luxury SUV segment, particularly when maintained with a full agency service history.

Performance & Capability

The 530 hp twin-turbo V8 enables a 0–100 km/h sprint of just 4.6 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on fast-moving UAE highways. Its 3,500 kg towing capacity makes it one of the most capable luxury vehicles for hauling trailers or boats to the coast. Standard electronic air suspension with predictive road scanning ensures the ride remains flat and composed, regardless of whether you are on a highway or a graded desert track.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a five-seat sanctuary featuring four-zone climate control, ensuring all passengers stay cool even during peak GCC summer temperatures. Soft-close doors and acoustic laminated glass isolate the interior from ambient city noise and wind buffeting at highway speeds. The Pivi Pro infotainment system with a 13.1-inch curved glass screen provides seamless connectivity for regional navigation and entertainment needs.

Safety

This HSE is equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite including Blind Spot Assist, which is vital for multi-lane highway driving, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist for long desert stretches. It also features Lane Keep Assist and Rear Traffic Monitor to protect against the unique hazards of high-speed regional traffic. The 360° 3D Surround Camera with Clearsight Ground View provides excellent visibility when navigating both rocky terrain and high-curbed urban parking lots.

The bottom line

For a buyer seeking the prestige of the latest Range Rover generation with the power of a V8, this GCC-spec HSE is a well-maintained opportunity that is perfectly suited for the regional lifestyle.
