Summary

This 2023 Lexus ES300h Hybrid Plus represents a balanced opportunity for GCC buyers, combining the refinement of an executive sedan with exceptional fuel efficiency. With roughly 53,000 km, its mileage sits within the expected range for a one-year-old car in our region, where highway commuting is standard. As the Hybrid Plus trim, it offers the upgraded interior technology and comfort features that buyers specifically look for, ensuring it remains a highly desirable choice at resale. For those navigating the stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh, the hybrid system provides a level of quietness and fuel savings that traditional luxury rivals can't match. It is the ideal daily driver for a professional who prioritizes reliability and a high-quality cabin environment.

This Car vs Other 2023 ES300hs

At 53,147 km, this ES300h has been driven at a typical GCC annual rate of approximately 25,000 km, indicating it was likely used for steady highway commutes between emirates. The grey exterior is among the most sought-after colors in the UAE and Saudi markets, providing a distinct advantage for future resale value compared to brighter or niche colors. Choosing a 2023 model allows you to benefit from the latest generation's infotainment updates while bypassing the steepest initial depreciation curve.

HYBRID PLUS vs Lower Trims

The Hybrid Plus trim significantly elevates the experience over the base Premier or Prestige variants by adding high-demand features like ventilated front seats, which are essential for the GCC summer. It also upgrades the cabin with a larger 12.3-inch high-definition touchscreen and a premium audio system, features that local buyers prioritize. You also gain advanced ambient lighting and finer wood trim accents, moving the car from a functional hybrid to a genuine executive environment.

ES300h vs Segment Rivals

The ES300h leads its primary competitors, such as the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, in real-world fuel efficiency and long-term reliability scores. While German rivals focus on high-speed dynamics, the Lexus is engineered for superior cabin cooling and ride smoothness, making it better suited for the high ambient temperatures and long highway stretches of the Middle East. Furthermore, its lower maintenance requirements and broader service parts availability across the GCC make it a more practical ownership proposition.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this hybrid powertrain typically averages between 4.8 and 5.5 L/100km, offering massive savings in city traffic compared to standard V6 sedans. Service intervals are a standard 10,000 km, supported by one of the most robust authorized dealer networks in every GCC country, from the UAE to Oman. Lexus historically enjoys the highest resale value retention in the luxury segment locally, depreciating significantly slower than European counterparts over a three-year period.

Performance & Capability

The 2.5-liter hybrid system produces 214 horsepower, delivering a 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 8.5 seconds. While not a sports car, the immediate electric torque makes highway overtaking effortless and city driving exceptionally smooth. The car features multiple drive modes, including an EV-only mode for quiet low-speed maneuvers, and is specifically tuned for stability during long-distance cruising across the desert highways.

Comfort & Cabin

The 5-seat cabin is a sanctuary of quietness, featuring acoustic glass and extensive sound insulation to block out road noise. In the HYBRID PLUS trim, you benefit from dual-zone climate control with powerful cooling and ventilated seats that ensure comfort even during the peak of summer. Rear passengers enjoy generous legroom and dedicated air vents, making it a capable family car or an executive transport solution.

Safety

This trim comes standard with the Lexus Safety System+ 2.5, including Pre-Collision System with pedestrian detection and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, which is indispensable for long drives between cities. It also features Blind Spot Monitoring and Lane Tracing Assist to help navigate fast-moving multi-lane traffic safely. With 10 airbags and a rigid chassis, it consistently earns top-tier safety ratings across global testing bodies.

The bottom line

For the executive who demands Lexus reliability and class-leading fuel economy without sacrificing luxury, this HYBRID PLUS trim is the most sensible and high-value choice currently on the market.
