Summary

This 2022 Lexus RX450h Prestige represents a sophisticated choice for GCC buyers seeking the perfect balance of luxury and efficiency. With a mileage of 77,000 km over 4 years, it has been driven roughly 19,000 km annually, which is slightly below the typical GCC average for a family SUV. The Green exterior is a distinctive choice that stands out in a market dominated by white and silver, while the Prestige trim offers the core Lexus luxury experience with essential tech. As a hybrid, it excels in the heavy stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh, offering significant fuel savings without the need for charging infrastructure. For those prioritizing long-term reliability and high resale value, this GCC-spec Lexus remains a segment leader.

This Car vs Other 2022 RX450hs

With 77,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits at a healthy mid-range mileage for a 4-year-old car in the region, where annual averages often hit 25,000 km. It has been utilized enough to ensure the hybrid battery system remains active and healthy, yet it avoids the high-wear typical of cross-country commuters. The unique Green finish provides a more exclusive aesthetic than standard fleet colors, which can often help maintain desirability in the pre-owned market.

PRESTIGE vs Lower Trims

The Prestige trim serves as a major step up from the base model, introducing features that are vital for the GCC climate, such as ventilated front seats and a power liftgate for convenience at the mall. It adds larger 20-inch alloy wheels that improve the car's presence compared to the standard 18-inch rims. Inside, you benefit from a higher grade of leather and enhanced wood trim, providing a more premium tactile experience during long highway drives.

RX450h vs Segment Rivals

The RX450h is often cross-shopped with the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE, but it leads the pack in terms of low-speed urban efficiency and long-term ownership costs. Unlike its European rivals, the Lexus hybrid system is self-charging and highly proven in extreme desert heat. It offers a more relaxed, library-quiet cabin environment that specifically prioritizes passenger comfort over aggressive sportiness.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this hybrid powertrain typically averages around 7.5 to 8.4 L/100km, a significant improvement over petrol-only V6 rivals in urban traffic. Lexus enjoys the strongest value retention in the GCC used market, with the RX historically depreciating at roughly 8-10% annually compared to 15% for many luxury competitors. With an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and KSA, maintaining this vehicle is straightforward and parts are readily available.

Performance & Capability

The hybrid system delivers 308 hp, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in 7.7 seconds, which is impressively brisk for a luxury SUV. The Four-Wheel Drive (E-Four) system uses a dedicated electric motor for the rear axle, providing instant traction on sandy patches or wet roads during winter rains. On the highway, the transition between electric and petrol power is nearly imperceptible, making it an ideal cruiser for trips between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for five adults, featuring 10-way power-adjustable front seats with essential ventilation to combat the summer heat. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents and a reclining seat bench, ensuring comfort even on longer family road trips. Standard acoustic glass helps keep the interior peaceful by significantly reducing the drone of highway wind and road noise.

Safety

This trim comes standard with Lexus Safety System+ 2.0, a comprehensive suite including All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Tracing Assist, which are invaluable for reducing fatigue on long desert highways. It also includes Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, providing essential protection in fast-moving multi-lane traffic. The vehicle is equipped with a full array of 10 airbags to ensure maximum occupant safety.

The bottom line

Perfect for the eco-conscious professional or small family, this RX450h offers the best resale security in the UAE combined with the daily savings of a proven hybrid powertrain.
