Summary

This 2022 McLaren GT represents a rare opportunity to own a supercar that balances track-ready performance with genuine cross-country usability, specifically curated for the discerning GCC enthusiast. With its mileage sitting well below the typical 25,000 km annual average for the region, this example offers a like-new mechanical feel while avoiding the steep initial depreciation of a showroom-fresh unit. The black exterior is a high-demand choice in the UAE and Saudi markets, ensuring strong resale liquidity and a timeless aesthetic that commands respect on the Sheikh Zayed Road. Unlike focused supercars that sacrifice comfort, the GT is designed for the long highway stretches between emirates, offering a refined cabin and a compliant ride without losing its mid-engine soul. For a buyer looking to transition into the world of high-end British engineering, this specific listing provides the perfect entry point through a car that is as comfortable at a valet stand in DIFC as it is at full tilt on the Dubai Autodrome. The most critical factor for a local buyer is the GT's enhanced cooling and daily-driver ergonomics, making it one of the few supercars that can truly handle the intense heat of a Middle Eastern summer while remaining a practical choice for executive commuting.

This Car vs Other 2022 McLaren GTs

When comparing this specific 2022 McLaren GT to others currently on the market in the GCC, the primary advantage lies in its remarkably low mileage. While many grand tourers in the region accumulate significant kilometers through frequent trips between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, this car has been driven sparingly, keeping its mechanical components in peak condition. The black-on-black color scheme is a major asset here; in the local market, neutral and classic tones like black hold their value significantly better than experimental or bright shades, making it a safer long-term investment. This car has been maintained to a high standard, showing none of the typical wear associated with higher-usage supercars of the same year. Choosing a 2022 model also means you benefit from the latest refinements in McLaren's infotainment and suspension tuning, which were polished significantly compared to the earlier production years of the GT. For a buyer who prioritizes a clean history and a color that will never go out of style, this example stands out as a top-tier choice among the available 2022 inventory.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

In the world of the McLaren GT, the 'Standard' designation is a bit of a misnomer, as it includes a level of luxury and technology that many other brands would consider a top-shelf option. While some entry-level supercars require expensive add-ons for essential comfort, the GT comes equipped with a bespoke interior focused on long-distance ergonomics, including power-adjustable heated seats that are essential for staying comfortable during the cooler winter months in the desert. You also receive the upgraded Proactive Damper Control suspension, which isn't found on many competing base-model performance cars; this system reads the road every two milliseconds to ensure the car stays flat through corners while remaining supple over highway joints. The standard inclusion of a high-fidelity audio system ensures that even when you aren't listening to the V8, your environment remains premium. This trim also features the essential lift system, a must-have for the speed bumps and steep underground parking ramps common in Dubai's residential and commercial towers. By choosing this specification, you are getting the core McLaren DNA with the specific comfort features that make the GT a true grand tourer rather than just a weekend toy.

McLaren GT vs Segment Rivals

The McLaren GT competes in a prestigious segment against rivals like the Bentley Continental GT and the Aston Martin DB11, yet it carves out its own niche by being the only one built on a lightweight carbon fiber monocoque. While the Bentley offers more weight and a traditional luxury feel, the McLaren GT provides a significantly more visceral driving experience thanks to its mid-engine layout, which offers superior balance during high-speed maneuvers. Compared to the DB11, the McLaren GT offers a more futuristic cabin and a much more advanced suspension system that handles the transition from city traffic to open highway with greater grace. One of the most significant advantages for a GCC buyer is the GT's cooling efficiency; McLaren’s motorsport heritage means the radiators and airflow management are designed to keep the engine at optimal temperatures even when the ambient heat exceeds 45°C. Furthermore, the GT offers a unique front and rear luggage solution that provides more total storage capacity than most rivals, making it the only supercar in its class that can comfortably accommodate a full set of golf clubs or weekend bags for a trip to a mountain resort in Hatta. It effectively bridges the gap between a focused supercar and a luxury cruiser better than anything else in its segment.

Running Costs & Resale

Owning a McLaren GT in the GCC is a surprisingly manageable experience if you follow the prescribed maintenance schedule at authorized service centers located across the UAE and the wider region. Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.0L V8 is efficient for its power class, averaging around 11.9 L/100km on the highway, which allows for decent range on long-distance drives across the Emirates. In the stop-start traffic of Riyadh or Dubai, consumption will naturally increase, but the car’s stop-start technology helps mitigate excessive fuel use. Service intervals typically occur every 15,000 km or once a year, and the network of specialized technicians in the region ensures that parts and expert care are readily available. In terms of resale, the GT has shown a more stable depreciation curve than the more track-focused LT models, primarily because its usability appeals to a wider pool of used car buyers. As a Japanese spec vehicle, it has been well-maintained and shares the same high-quality mechanical components as local spec cars, though buyers should note that service history documentation is key to maintaining value. Typically, a well-kept GT will retain a higher percentage of its value at the three-year mark compared to traditional luxury sedans, making it a sound enthusiast purchase.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this machine is a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing a staggering 600 hp, which propels the GT from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. This level of performance puts it in the top tier of vehicles on GCC roads, allowing for effortless overtaking on fast-moving highways where speed and precision are paramount. The car reaches a top speed of 326 km/h, a testament to its aerodynamic efficiency and raw power. Despite this extreme performance, the GT is engineered with a unique 'Proactive Damper Control' system that uses sensors to read the road ahead, providing a ride quality that is surprisingly smooth, even on less-than-perfect surfaces. The rear-wheel-drive configuration and precise hydraulic steering provide an authentic driver-centric experience that few modern cars can replicate. For the GCC owner, this translates to a car that feels incredibly stable at high cruising speeds during cross-country trips, yet remains agile and exciting when taken through the winding roads of Jebel Jais. There are various drive modes—Comfort, Sport, and Track—that allow you to transform the car's personality at the touch of a button, ensuring it is always perfectly calibrated for the road conditions.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside the McLaren GT, you are met with a cockpit that prioritizes both the driver's focus and the passenger's comfort. The two-seat layout is spacious, offering significantly more headroom and legroom than typical supercars, which is a major benefit for taller drivers in the region. The interior is draped in high-quality materials that are designed to withstand the intense sunlight of the Middle East without premature fading or wear. The air conditioning system is exceptionally powerful, a critical feature for any car operating in the GCC, ensuring the cabin stays chilled even during the peak of summer. Visibility is another area where the GT excels, with large windows and slim pillars that make navigating through tight city traffic or parking in crowded mall garages much easier than in other mid-engine cars. The infotainment system is intuitive and keeps you connected, while the premium audio system provides a concert-like experience that complements the car's refined interior. Even the engine noise is tuned to be a pleasant background hum during highway cruising, only becoming a roar when you specifically demand it, making long drives a pleasure rather than a chore.

Safety

Safety in the McLaren GT is built around its incredibly strong carbon fiber 'MonoCell II-T' chassis, which provides a protective cage for the occupants that is virtually unparalleled in the automotive world. This rigid structure not only enhances handling but also offers exceptional impact protection. Standard safety features include advanced Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Traction Control, which are essential for maintaining grip on the sandy or dusty road surfaces often encountered in the UAE. The braking system is equally impressive, providing immense stopping power that remains consistent even after repeated high-speed use. For daily driving, the car includes high-definition cameras and parking sensors that are invaluable for protecting the car's bodywork in urban environments. The LED headlights provide excellent illumination for night driving on unlit desert roads, ensuring a clear view of the path ahead. Every aspect of the car’s safety suite is designed to work harmoniously with the driver, providing peace of mind whether you are navigating a rainy afternoon in the city or pushing the car’s limits on a weekend track day.

The bottom line

This 2022 McLaren GT is the ideal choice for the executive who demands supercar performance without sacrificing the comfort and prestige required for daily GCC life. With low mileage and a high-demand color, this listing is a standout opportunity to own a modern British icon that is perfectly suited for the region's unique driving conditions.
