Summary

This 2022 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG stands out in the GCC market with its distinctive Green finish, a color that commands strong presence and excellent resale value in the region. With 51,000 km, the mileage is well-aligned with the typical high-utilization profile of UAE-based luxury SUVs while remaining mechanically fresh. As a GCC-spec model, it features the factory-upgraded cooling systems essential for maintaining peak performance during extreme summer heat. The G63 remains the definitive choice for those seeking a blend of supercar acceleration and unmatched off-road heritage. For a buyer in the Gulf, owning a GCC-spec G-Wagon ensures seamless service support and higher valuation at trade-in compared to international imports.

This Car vs Other 2022 G63 AMGs

At 51,000 km, this vehicle sits comfortably at the average mileage mark for a three-year-old luxury SUV in the UAE, where long-distance highway commutes are standard. The Green exterior is a highly sought-after 'G Manufaktur' style choice in the GCC, offering a unique alternative to common white or black palettes and supporting stronger long-term value retention. Choosing a GCC-spec example like this one provides the critical advantage of a local warranty history and regional heat-load compliance.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The G63 AMG sits at the top of the G-Class hierarchy, adding the hand-assembled 585 hp biturbo V8 which offers significantly more performance than the G500. This trim includes the AMG-specific vertical-slat Grille, side-exit exhaust pipes that provide the signature acoustic growl, and high-performance braking systems. GCC buyers will particularly appreciate the standard Nappa leather interior and Widescreen Cockpit, features that are often optional or less refined on non-AMG variants.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

The G63 competes primarily with the Range Rover Autobiography and the Lamborghini Urus, leading the group with its iconic body-on-frame durability and three mechanical locking differentials for superior desert capability. While rivals focus on unibody road manners, the G63 offers a 100-litre fuel tank, providing superior range for cross-emirate drives from Dubai to Abu Dhabi or Muscat. Its upright design also provides better visibility and headroom than the more swept-back performance SUVs in its class.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the G63 in GCC traffic averages between 14-16 L/100km, though cylinder deactivation helps efficiency during steady highway cruising. Service intervals are typically every 15,000 km or 12 months at authorized centers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring the specialized V8 is maintained to factory standards. The G-Class continues to be one of the slowest-depreciating luxury vehicles in the Middle East, often retaining over 75% of its value after three years.

Performance & Capability

The 585 hp V8 propels this SUV from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, delivering immediate overtaking power on fast-moving highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. Its legendary 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system features a 40:60 rear-biased torque split, paired with 241 mm of ground clearance for weekend excursions into the dunes. Whether navigating stop-start city traffic or climbing steep terrain, the 9-speed automatic transmission ensures power is always available through its selectable drive modes.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is insulated with acoustic glass to protect against desert wind noise and features high-output air conditioning specifically calibrated for the GCC climate. Front occupants enjoy heated and ventilated seats, while rear passengers benefit from dedicated climate zones and ample legroom for family trips. The Burmester® surround sound system and 64-color ambient lighting allow for a highly personalized and luxurious atmosphere during long night drives.

Safety

This G63 is equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety tech, including Active Brake Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind Spot Monitoring, which are vital for the multi-lane highway environments of the Gulf. A 360-degree camera system is standard, making the vehicle's boxy dimensions easy to manage in tight parking areas. Additionally, the PRE-SAFE® system and multiple airbags provide top-tier passenger protection during off-road or high-speed driving.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec 2022 G63 is the ideal acquisition for the enthusiast who demands a iconic color and verified regional history in a vehicle that is just as capable in the city as it is in the sand.
