Summary

This 2022 Mercedes Benz G63 AMG represents a rare opportunity to own a nearly new example of the world's most recognizable luxury SUV with significantly lower mileage than the typical 25,000 km annual average found in the GCC. Finished in a sophisticated Grey, this vehicle benefits from one of the strongest resale colors in the region, ensuring it remains a liquid asset should you choose to upgrade later. While many SUVs in this segment are purely for show, the G63 AMG combines supercar-level performance with genuine mechanical hardware that can handle the most demanding terrains from Dubai's dunes to Oman's rocky mountains. The European specification ensures a high level of interior finish and technical options that are often highly sought after by discerning collectors in the UAE. For a buyer looking for the ultimate status symbol that doesn't compromise on mechanical integrity or long-term value, this specific listing is currently one of the most compelling options on the market. Ownership of such a vehicle in the GCC is supported by an extensive network of specialized service centers, making it a surprisingly practical choice for daily executive commuting or weekend exploration.

This Car vs Other 2022 G63 AMGs

When looking at the 2022 G63 AMG market in the GCC, mileage is the primary differentiator for value. With just over 26,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven roughly 13,000 km per year, which is nearly half the typical 25,000 km annual average for luxury SUVs in this region. This lower usage means less wear on the suspension components and cooling systems, which are often stressed by the intense heat and long-distance highway hauls between emirates. The Grey exterior is a significant advantage; in the GCC market, neutral tones like grey, black, and white command the highest resale premiums and sell much faster than brighter alternatives. Being a European spec model, it often features specific interior packages and software configurations that local buyers find desirable, though it is important to note that service records are the key to maintaining its value. Compared to other 2022 models currently available, the combination of conservative mileage and a high-demand color palette places this specific unit in the top tier of available inventory.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

While the 'Standard' trim on a G63 AMG may sound basic, it is actually the peak of the G-Wagon hierarchy, sitting far above the G500 or G400d models often found in the market. This trim grants you the legendary hand-built 4.0L V8 biturbo engine, a masterpiece of engineering that provides a completely different driving dynamic than the smaller engines found in lower tiers. You also receive the AMG-specific body styling, including the iconic side-exit exhausts and flared wheel arches that define the vehicle's presence on UAE roads. Inside, the standard equipment for this model year includes the high-resolution dual-screen widescreen cockpit and the superior Burmester surround sound system, which is a significant upgrade over the base audio found in non-AMG models. Furthermore, the G63 comes with high-performance braking systems and the AMG Ride Control suspension, which allows for adjustable damping—a crucial feature for maintaining comfort on the varied road surfaces of the GCC.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

In the GCC, the G63 AMG occupies a unique space where its primary rivals are the Range Rover Autobiography and the Lamborghini Urus. While the Lamborghini offers slightly more on-road agility, it cannot match the G63 AMG's 241 mm of ground clearance or its three independent locking differentials, which make it a superior vehicle for those who actually intend to venture into the desert. The Range Rover offers a softer ride, but the Mercedes Benz holds its value significantly better in the local used market, often retaining a much higher percentage of its original MSRP after three years. The G63 AMG also features a massive 100-liter fuel tank, which is a major benefit for long-distance cross-border drives across the GCC where petrol stations can be sparse in remote areas. Its upright design provides better visibility in heavy city traffic compared to the sloping rooflines of modern 'SUV Coupes' from rival brands, making it easier to maneuver in tight urban environments like Downtown Dubai or Riyadh's business districts.

Running Costs & Resale

The G63 AMG is famous in the GCC for having some of the lowest depreciation rates in the entire luxury SUV segment. While most European luxury cars lose value rapidly, the G-Class often maintains a 'cult' status that keeps demand high and supply low in the secondary market. You can expect an annual depreciation rate of approximately 10-12%, which is significantly better than the 18% seen in many luxury sedans. For fuel consumption, the 4.0L V8 is optimized for high-octane Super 98 fuel, which is widely available across the UAE and the wider GCC. In stop-start city traffic, consumption is high, but on the long highways connecting the emirates, the cylinder deactivation technology helps manage efficiency surprisingly well. Service intervals are typically every 15,000 km or 12 months, and while European spec cars may require a local service contract to be purchased, the abundance of authorized Mercedes-Benz workshops across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait ensures that maintenance is never a logistical challenge.

Performance & Capability

Performance is headlined by the staggering 585 hp and 850 Nm of torque produced by the biturbo V8, allowing this heavy SUV to reach 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. This explosive acceleration is perfect for merging onto fast-moving UAE highways like the E11 where traffic speeds are high. The 9-speed AMG Speedshift transmission provides lightning-fast gear changes, ensuring power is always available for overtaking. Beyond the speed, this vehicle is a genuine off-road powerhouse equipped with a low-range transfer case and three locking differentials (Center, Rear, and Front). This level of mechanical hardware is rare in modern luxury SUVs and allows the G63 to navigate soft sand and steep dunes with ease. Whether you are driving through the Hatta mountains or cruising along the Corniche, the AMG Ride Control suspension constantly adapts to provide a level of stability that belies the vehicle's tall, boxy silhouette.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin of this 2022 model is a sanctuary of high-grade materials and cutting-edge tech designed to handle the GCC's extreme summer heat. The air conditioning system is exceptionally powerful, capable of cooling the vertical cabin space in minutes even after the car has been parked in 45°C sun. The seats are typically upholstered in Nappa leather and feature multi-contour adjustments with heating and ventilation, the latter being an essential luxury for the local climate. Ambient lighting with 64 colors allows you to customize the interior mood, while the acoustic glass helps insulate the cabin from wind noise during high-speed highway travel. Rear passengers enjoy ample headroom thanks to the iconic boxy design, and the 5-seat layout ensures everyone has enough personal space for long family road trips. The Burmester audio system provides a concert-like experience, perfectly tuned to overcome any road noise from the aggressive AMG tires.

Safety

Safety in the G63 AMG is handled by a comprehensive suite of Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive technologies. Standard features include Active Brake Assist, which is vital for the sudden stops often encountered in dense city traffic, and Lane Keeping Assist to keep you centered during long, fatigue-inducing highway journeys. The Blind Spot Assist is particularly useful in the GCC, where multi-lane highways and fast-moving traffic make lane changes a high-focus task. The vehicle also features a 360-degree camera system, which is indispensable for parking such a large and valuable vehicle in tight mall parking spaces. Adaptive Cruise Control (Distronic) allows for a more relaxed driving experience on the long stretches of road between Abu Dhabi and Dubai by automatically maintaining a safe distance from the car ahead. Combined with its heavy-duty steel frame and multiple airbags, the G63 offers a sense of security that few other vehicles can match.

The bottom line

This G63 AMG is the perfect choice for an executive or collector who wants the most iconic SUV on the planet with the added peace of mind of low mileage and a high-resale color. It represents a smart buy in the current GCC market, offering the prestige of the AMG badge with a mechanical robustness that ensures it will hold its value for years to come.
