Summary

This 2022 Mitsubishi Attrage GLX Highline is an exceptionally practical choice for urban commuting in the GCC, offering a balance of modern features and class-leading efficiency. With its grey exterior, it maintains a strong resale profile in the local market while effectively hiding the dust common to the region. As the highline trim, it provides significant cabin upgrades that make daily drives across the Emirates much more comfortable compared to base fleet models. This model is widely regarded as one of the most cost-effective sedans to operate in the region due to its legendary reliability and low fuel consumption. For a buyer seeking a dependable daily driver that won't break the bank at the pump or the service center, this Attrage is a top-tier contender.

This Car vs Other 2022 Attrages

With 82,017 km, this vehicle sits slightly above the average GCC annual usage, but this is typical for high-efficiency commuters used for inter-city travel between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The grey exterior is a highly desirable resale color in the UAE, offering better longevity and heat management than darker tones. It has been maintained to standard GCC specifications, ensuring the cooling system is optimized for local summer extremes.

GLX HIGHLINE vs Lower Trims

The GLX Highline trim elevates the experience significantly over the base GLX, adding 15-inch alloy wheels and a 7-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also benefit from a rear-view camera and steering wheel-mounted audio controls, features that are often missing in the entry-level fleet versions. These additions provide the connectivity and parking ease that modern GCC drivers expect.

Attrage vs Segment Rivals

The Attrage leads rivals like the Suzuki Dzire and Kia Pegas in raw fuel efficiency, achieving a manufacturer-rated 20.8 km/L. While competitors might offer slightly more horsepower, the Attrage provides a superior 450-litre boot capacity, which is surprisingly large for a sub-compact sedan. Its tight turning circle makes it significantly easier to navigate crowded parking structures in major GCC cities.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel costs are among the lowest in the sedan segment, with the 1.2L engine requiring only 91 or 95 octane petrol. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and Mitsubishi’s massive parts distribution network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman ensures maintenance is both affordable and fast. The Attrage enjoys one of the lowest depreciation rates in its class, retaining roughly 60-65% of its value after three years in the GCC market.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder MIVEC engine, the Attrage is designed for efficiency rather than speed, delivering a smooth experience through its INVECS-III CVT. It handles the stop-start traffic of Riyadh or Dubai with ease, providing enough low-end torque for confident city lane changes. On the highway, it maintains steady cruising speeds while keeping engine noise well-insulated for its segment.

Comfort & Cabin

Despite its compact footprint, the cabin is designed with a 'people-first' approach, offering enough legroom for five adults and a height-adjustable driver's seat. The GCC-spec air conditioning is notably powerful, a critical factor for comfort during the peak summer months. The Highline's fabric seats are durable and stay cooler than leather alternatives when the car is parked in the sun.

Safety

This trim features Mitsubishi's RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) body construction designed to absorb energy during a collision. Standard safety equipment includes dual front SRS airbags, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Active Stability Control (ASC). It also includes Hill Start Assist, which is particularly helpful when navigating steep parking ramps.

The bottom line

This Attrage is the ideal match for a budget-conscious professional or a small family looking for a modern, high-spec commuter with the lowest possible running costs in the GCC.
