Summary

This 2022 Nissan Altima S is a standout for commuters who value efficiency and modern safety in a proven sedan package. With 100,000 km on the odometer, it has been utilized for the kind of long-distance highway driving that defines the GCC lifestyle, where such mileage is typical for a three-year-old vehicle. The white exterior is the most strategically sound choice for the region, offering the best heat reflection during summer and ensuring the highest possible resale demand. As a segment leader in fuel economy, this Altima provides a massive driving range that minimizes stops during trans-emirate trips. It offers a balance of Japanese reliability and essential tech that makes it a highly practical daily driver.

This Car vs Other 2022 Altima s

While many 2022 models in the UAE show lower mileage, this car's 100,000 km reflects steady highway use, which often results in less engine wear than stop-start city traffic. The white exterior provides a significant resale advantage in the GCC market, as it is the most requested color for its ability to stay cool. Being an American spec vehicle, it offers high-level safety standards often exceeding regional requirements for the same model year.

S vs Lower Trims

As the foundational trim, the S focuses on core mechanical reliability and essential modern comforts. It features remote engine start, which is a vital luxury for pre-cooling the cabin before entry during the GCC summer. While higher trims add leather and larger screens, the S maintains a 7-inch touchscreen and a full suite of 10 airbags, ensuring the primary safety and connectivity needs are met without the added complexity of higher-maintenance electronics.

Altima vs Segment Rivals

The Altima leads rivals like the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord in highway fuel efficiency, achieving an impressive 39 MPG (approx. 6.0 L/100km) on the open road. Its 61-litre fuel tank is specifically engineered for long-range cruising, offering a greater distance between fill-ups than many competitors. Additionally, Nissan’s Zero Gravity seat technology provides superior lumbar support, a critical differentiator for those who spend hours commuting between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are exceptionally low due to the 2.5L engine's efficiency, averaging 7.4 L/100km in combined driving. While American spec vehicles may experience a slightly steeper depreciation curve than GCC spec units, the Altima remains one of the most liquid assets in the used market. Maintenance is simplified by one of the most extensive authorized and independent service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts are always affordable and available.

Performance & Capability

The 188 hp 2.5-litre engine provides smooth, linear power ideal for merging onto fast-moving UAE highways. The Xtronic CVT is tuned for efficiency but includes a ‘D-Step’ logic that mimics traditional gear shifts during hard acceleration for a more natural feel. With a turning circle of just 11 meters, it remains remarkably maneuverable in tight city parking despite its spacious sedan dimensions.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for five adults, featuring class-leading front legroom that accommodates taller drivers comfortably. The air conditioning system is famously robust, capable of reaching cabin-wide cooling rapidly even after the car has been parked in direct sunlight. Standard remote start allows you to activate the climate control from a distance, ensuring a comfortable environment the moment you step inside.

Safety

Safety is a primary highlight of the 2022 Altima, which comes standard with Nissan Safety Shield 360 technologies. This includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning, and Intelligent Forward Collision Warning. For highway safety, the Intelligent Driver Alertness system monitors steering patterns to alert you if it detects signs of fatigue, providing an extra layer of security during long night drives across the desert.

The bottom line

For the practical commuter, this Altima S offers a modern, high-safety sedan with the region's best resale color at a price point that reflects its highway-proven mileage.
