Summary

This 4-year-old Nissan Altima SPORT offers a distinct advantage for GCC buyers looking for a commuter that stands out from the standard rental-spec sedans. The white exterior is the premier choice for the region, offering the best heat reflection and the strongest resale liquidity in the UAE and Saudi markets. With its sport-tuned suspension and larger wheels, it bridges the gap between a sensible family car and a more engaging driver's sedan. Nissan's 2.5L powertrain is a staple of GCC roads, ensuring that maintenance is straightforward and affordable across a massive network of authorized service centers. This specific trim provides the aesthetic of a performance car with the proven reliability and fuel efficiency required for daily cross-emirate travel.

This Car vs Other 2022 Altimas

With 79,000 km over 4 years, this vehicle sits comfortably within the typical GCC annual usage of 20,000 km, showing it has been driven regularly and maintained. The American regional spec often provides a higher initial equipment level compared to base local trims, though buyers should verify service history to ensure local compatibility. The white finish is a strategic choice for the desert climate, ensuring the cabin stays cooler and the paintwork retains its value better than darker alternatives.

SPORT vs Lower Trims

The SPORT (SR) trim is a significant step up from the S and SV, replacing the standard 16 or 17-inch wheels with aggressive 19-inch alloys and adding a dedicated sport-tuned suspension for better highway stability. Inside, you get sport cloth seat trim and paddle shifters that give you manual control over the CVT for confident overtaking. It also adds a dark chrome V-motion grille and smoked headlight housings that provide a much sharper look than the base models.

Altima vs Segment Rivals

The Altima is a top-tier choice alongside the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, specifically leading the segment in seat comfort thanks to its 'Zero Gravity' seat technology which reduces fatigue on long drives to Abu Dhabi or Oman. Its 61-litre fuel tank provides impressive highway range, often outlasting rivals during high-speed cruising. While others focus on soft rides, the SPORT trim offers a more connected feel that enthusiasts in the region prefer.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.5L engine averages around 7.9 L/100km, making it highly economical for stop-start traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. Nissan maintains one of the most robust service networks in the GCC, meaning parts are always available and competitive in price. The Altima typically sees a depreciation rate of roughly 10-12% annually, holding its value better than most European rivals in the same segment.

Performance & Capability

The 182 hp engine is perfectly tuned for the GCC's fast-moving highways, delivering smooth acceleration for merging and overtaking. The sport-tuned suspension on this trim reduces body roll, making the car feel planted even in crosswinds on open desert roads. While it is a front-wheel-drive sedan, its active ride control helps manage uneven surfaces and speed bumps common in urban residential areas.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the heat, featuring a powerful air conditioning system with rear cooling vents that are essential for passenger comfort during the peak of summer. The 8-inch NissanConnect display provides seamless smartphone integration, while the sport seats offer extra bolstering to keep you secure during spirited driving. Noise insulation is a strong suit, keeping the cabin quiet from wind noise at highway speeds.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on this trim, featuring Nissan Safety Shield 360 which includes Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection. For the fast-paced driving environments of the UAE, the Lane Departure Warning and Blind Spot Warning provide essential assistance. It also comes standard with a rearview camera and rear parking sensors to make navigating tight city parking garages effortless.

The bottom line

For the GCC professional who needs a stylish, dependable daily driver that won't break the bank at the pump or the service center, this Altima SPORT is the ideal middle ground. It offers the best resale color and the most desirable aesthetic features in the Altima range, making it a high-liquidity asset for its next owner.
