Summary

This 4-year-old Model S offers an exceptional entry point into high-performance electric motoring, with its grey exterior standing as a top-tier choice for resale value in the GCC. While the mileage reflects active use, these powertrains are engineered for longevity with far fewer moving parts than traditional luxury sedans. As a Long Range trim, it balances breathtaking acceleration with the highest efficiency in the lineup, making it ideal for the long highway stretches between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Buyers will benefit from the refreshed interior architecture and the massive 17-inch cinematic display that defines the modern Tesla experience. For a GCC-based owner, the combination of segment-leading range and daily usability makes this a highly practical alternative to European luxury rivals.

This Car vs Other 2022 Model Ss

With 74,312 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven approximately 18,500 km per year, which is below the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen for highway commuters in the UAE. The grey exterior is a highly desirable shade in the regional market, offering excellent heat reflection and maintaining strong secondary market demand compared to bolder colors. Being an American-spec vehicle, it provides the same core hardware and performance as local units but at a more accessible price point for the savvy buyer.

LONG RANGE vs Lower Trims

The Long Range trim serves as the essential upgrade over previous standard models, adding the dual-motor all-wheel-drive system as standard for superior traction on sand-dusted roads. It includes premium features that GCC buyers prioritize, such as the 22-speaker audio system and ventilated front seats, which are indispensable during the peak summer months. Unlike older base trims, this version also features the 8-inch rear-seat entertainment display, ensuring comfort and engagement for all five passengers during cross- emirate trips.

Model S vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Porsche Taycan or Mercedes-Benz EQS, the Model S leads significantly in range-per-charge, a critical factor for those traveling between major GCC cities like Dubai and Riyadh. Its hatchback design offers superior cargo versatility, providing 793 liters of space that rivals often struggle to match in a sedan silhouette. Furthermore, Tesla's software-first approach ensures that the cabin technology feels a generation ahead of traditional luxury competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are remarkably low, as the electric powertrain bypasses the expensive oil changes and spark plug replacements required by V8 luxury rivals. While this is an American-spec car, parts for the Model S are widely available through independent specialists in the UAE, though it typically trades 15-20% below GCC-spec equivalents, offering a significant initial saving. Tesla vehicles generally experience a depreciation rate of 12-15% annually in the UAE, which is competitive for the high-end luxury segment.

Performance & Capability

With a 0–100 km/h sprint of just 3.2 seconds, this car delivers supercar-level performance that makes highway overtaking effortless on fast-moving roads like E11. The dual-motor AWD system provides precise power delivery, while the adaptive air suspension can be raised to clear speed bumps or uneven parking areas. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, ensuring it remains composed and stable during high-speed cruising in any regional conditions.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a minimalist sanctuary designed for high-temperature environments, featuring a powerful tri-zone climate control system with hidden vents that circulate air more effectively than traditional registers. Both front and rear passengers enjoy heated seats, while the front occupants benefit from ventilation to combat the Gulf heat. The panoramic glass roof is heavily tinted to block UV rays and heat, maintaining a cool interior temperature even when parked in direct sunlight.

Safety

Safety is anchored by the Autopilot suite, which includes emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist—essential tools for navigating the multi-lane highways of the UAE. The vehicle's low center of gravity, thanks to the floor-mounted battery pack, provides exceptional rollover protection. Additionally, the cabin is protected by a comprehensive 12-airbag system and a high-strength steel and aluminum structure that has earned top safety marks globally.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants the best-in-class range and tech of a flagship Tesla without the Plaid premium, this well-maintained Long Range is a strategic choice. Its American-spec status makes it an excellent value play for someone looking to experience the future of mobility in the GCC today.
