Summary

This 2022 Toyota Fortuner EXR is a definitive choice for GCC drivers seeking a balance of urban practicality and weekend capability. With 85,000 km, its mileage reflects typical highway-heavy use across the region, while the white exterior remains the most sought-after color for heat reflection and high resale value. As a GCC-spec model, it is purpose-built for extreme temperatures and benefits from the most accessible parts network in the Middle East. The 2.7-liter powertrain offers a reliable, low-maintenance entry point into the seven-seat SUV segment, making it a stress-free investment for growing families. This listing represents a rare opportunity to own a current-generation Fortuner that has already undergone its initial depreciation while retaining its legendary mechanical integrity.

This Car vs Other 2022 Fortuners

With 85,000 km, this Fortuner sits at the average mileage mark for a three-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where long-distance commutes are standard. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, ensuring the highest possible liquidity and demand when it comes time to resell. Unlike imported specs, this GCC-native vehicle is fully optimized for local cooling requirements and long-term radiator durability.

EXR vs Lower Trims

The EXR trim serves as the essential GCC gateway, providing the critical 4WD hardware and 17-inch alloy wheels necessary for regional terrain. While it focuses on utility, it retains key comforts like cruise control and a touchscreen infotainment system that are often absent on base work-fleet variants. It strikes a professional balance by offering the rugged Hilux-based chassis without the higher insurance premiums of the V6 models.

Fortuner vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Mitsubishi Montero Sport or Nissan X-Terra, the Fortuner leads significantly in regional serviceability and parts availability across every emirate and border. Its body-on-frame construction provides a level of off-road durability that monocoque rivals cannot match for desert weekend excursions. Furthermore, the Fortuner consistently commands higher residual values in the UAE and KSA markets than any other vehicle in its class.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.7-liter engine is designed to run efficiently on 91 or 95 octane fuel, with a real-world combined consumption of approximately 12.1 L/100km. Service intervals are strictly every 10,000 km, supported by a massive network of authorized centers from Al-Futtaim to Abdullah Hashim. The Fortuner is a GCC value champion, typically retaining up to 60% of its value after five years, far outperforming European and American competitors.

Performance & Capability

A class-leading 279 mm ground clearance ensures this SUV can navigate sand dunes and rocky wadis with ease. The selectable 4WD system and 164 hp engine provide enough torque for steady highway cruising and confident overtaking between cities. With a 1,500 kg braked towing capacity, it is fully equipped to handle jet-skis or light trailers for active weekend lifestyles.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout features a versatile folding mechanism that allows for a significant cargo increase when the third row is not in use. A high-output GCC-spec air conditioning system with dedicated rear vents ensures all passengers remain comfortable during peak summer months. The cabin is designed with durable materials that resist the wear of sand and sun, maintaining a clean aesthetic over long-term ownership.

Safety

This Fortuner is equipped with essential safety features including dual front airbags, a driver's knee airbag, and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) to maintain traction on loose surfaces. Standard Anti-lock Braking (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) provides reliable stopping power during sudden highway transitions. The inclusion of ISOFIX child seat anchors and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System ensures peace of mind for family travel across the Emirates.

The bottom line

For the practical buyer who values reliability and resale above all else, this GCC-spec Fortuner is the safest financial and mechanical bet in the used SUV market.
