Toyota Land Cruiser GXR

Highlights

• 235 mm ground clearance
• Extensive GCC authorised service network
• Strong value retention in the GCC used market

Summary

This Land Cruiser represents the gold standard for SUV ownership in the region, combining legendary durability with the modern refinements of the LC300 generation. With mileage that reflects typical highway-heavy use for its age, it remains in its prime for a vehicle known to comfortably pass the 300,000 km mark. The blue exterior is a sophisticated alternative to the common white and silver, yet it retains the high resale appeal characteristic of the GCC market. Whether navigating fast-moving city highways or heading out for a desert weekend, this GXR provides a balanced mix of off-road hardware and family comfort. As a GCC-spec model, it is fully equipped to handle extreme summer temperatures with specialized cooling systems that rivals often struggle to match.

This Car vs Other 2022 Land Cruisers

With 84,414 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits at a typical mileage for a three-year-old SUV in the GCC, where long-distance commutes are standard. It has been driven approximately 28,000 km per year, which is well within the expected usage for a Land Cruiser. The blue exterior is a standout choice in a market dominated by monochromatic tones, offering a unique look while maintaining strong resale liquidity across the region.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim is the preferred choice for GCC buyers, upgrading the entry-level EXR with essential comfort and tech features. It typically adds larger alloy wheels, a more advanced infotainment interface, and superior interior finishes like a wireless charger and power-adjustable seating. These enhancements make the GXR more desirable at resale compared to the base-spec models.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

The Land Cruiser is most frequently compared to the Nissan Patrol and the Ford Expedition. While rivals might focus on soft-road tech, the Toyota leads with its body-on-frame durability and a 110-litre fuel tank capacity designed for long-range desert touring. Its air conditioning performance remains the benchmark for the GCC climate, outperforming American and European competitors in peak summer heat.

Running Costs & Resale

Maintenance is highly predictable thanks to the most extensive authorized service network in the UAE and wider GCC. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and parts availability is unrivaled, keeping long-term repair costs lower than European luxury SUVs. The Land Cruiser notoriously has the slowest depreciation rate in the Gulf, often retaining significantly more value than its direct competitors after three years.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 235 mm ground clearance and a sophisticated 4WD system, this SUV is built for both smooth highway cruising and serious off-road exploration. The V6 powertrain is optimized for high-torque delivery at low speeds, essential for soft-sand driving. With a 700 mm wading depth and a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity, it is as much a workhorse as it is a family cruiser.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is designed for family logistics, featuring a powerful multi-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents to ensure every passenger stays cool. The cabin is well-insulated from exterior wind noise and heat, making long drives between Emirates effortless. Tech features include smartphone integration and a high-resolution display, ensuring modern connectivity alongside traditional Toyota reliability.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include a comprehensive airbag system, stability control, and ABS, all calibrated for the varied surfaces of the GCC. It includes parking sensors and a rearview camera to assist with the vehicle's footprint in tight city spaces. The LC300 platform utilizes high-tensile steel to provide a rigid safety cell, a crucial factor for high-speed highway travel.

The bottom line

For the buyer seeking a modern, reliable 4x4 that holds its value like currency in the GCC, this GCC-spec GXR is an ideal opportunity that balances age, mileage, and legendary capability.
