Summary

This Land Cruiser represents a compelling buy for the GCC market, combining the legendary reliability of the LC300 generation with the premium VXR trim. With the Vehicle Age at 4 years, its mileage is significantly lower than the average 80,000 to 100,000 km typically seen for this model in the UAE, indicating it has been used more conservatively than most. The Grey exterior is a versatile, high-demand choice that resists the local heat well and maintains strong resale appeal across the Emirates. For the serious GCC buyer, this model offers the perfect balance of a modern twin-turbo powertrain and the high-spec luxury expected of a flagship SUV. Ownership is backed by the region's most robust service network, ensuring peace of mind for long-distance cross-border travel.

This Car vs Other 2022 Land Cruisers

With only 65,000 km on the odometer and a Vehicle Age of 4 years, this unit sits well below the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average for SUVs in the GCC. While many 2022 models are now approaching the 100,000 km mark—a common psychological threshold for resale—this car remains in a lower-wear bracket. The Grey finish is a strategic choice for the local market, offering better dust concealment and heat reflection than darker tones while securing higher resale value than niche colors.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR trim is the flagship of the standard range, adding significant luxury over the GXR and VX variants. Key upgrades include a 14-speaker JBL premium audio system, a 12.3-inch high-resolution infotainment display, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. It also features crucial GCC-specific comforts such as ventilated seats for both the front and second rows, a four-zone climate control system, and a powered third-row seat configuration for easier family logistics.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

The Land Cruiser LC300 leads rivals like the Nissan Patrol and Chevrolet Tahoe in terms of long-range endurance, thanks to its standard 110-litre dual-tank system. While competitors may offer similar cabin space, the Toyota's 3.5L twin-turbo engine provides a more refined balance of high torque (650 Nm) and highway efficiency. Furthermore, the resale value for the Land Cruiser in the UAE remains unmatched, typically holding 8-10% more value than its American or European counterparts over the same period.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5L twin-turbo petrol engine typically averages around 10.1 to 12.1 L/100km, depending on the balance of city stop-start traffic and highway cruising. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from a service network that is arguably the most extensive in the world, with authorized centers in every major city from Dubai to Riyadh. Land Cruisers have the lowest depreciation rates in the region, often retaining over 75% of their value after three years of ownership.

Performance & Capability

Generating 409 hp and 650 Nm of torque, the twin-turbo V6 delivers effortless overtaking power on high-speed highways like the E11. Its 0–100 km/h sprint is achieved in approximately 6.7 to 6.8 seconds, a remarkable feat for a full-size SUV weighing over 2.5 tonnes. Off-road, the VXR utilizes a sophisticated Multi-Terrain Select system and Crawl Control to navigate deep sand and rocky wadis, supported by a 235 mm ground clearance that is standard for this generation.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the extreme GCC summer, featuring a high-output air conditioning system with dedicated vents for all three rows and a cooled center console refrigerator. The seven-seat layout is upholstered in premium leather, with both heating and ventilation standard on the VXR trim to ensure year-round comfort. Acoustic glass and improved insulation significantly reduce wind noise, making long drives between emirates quiet and fatigue-free.

Safety

This VXR trim comes equipped with the full Toyota Safety Sense suite, featuring Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, which is essential for long desert highway drives. Safety is further enhanced by 10 airbags and a 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor that simplifies parking in tight urban spaces. The body-on-frame construction provides a robust safety cell, while Blind Spot Monitoring provides critical awareness in fast-moving multi-lane traffic.

The bottom line

This 2022 VXR is a prime opportunity for a buyer seeking a low-mileage, top-tier LC300 that has already bypassed the initial new-car depreciation while remaining under the typical GCC mileage curve.
