Summary

This 2025 Land Cruiser GXR hits the sweet spot for GCC buyers, combining the legendary reliability of the 4.0L V6 with a modern interior that rivals luxury SUVs. With exactly one year of age and 40,000 km, it has already moved past the sharpest point of the new-car depreciation curve while remaining mechanically fresh. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the region, ensuring maximum resale demand and helping the cabin stay cooler during peak summer months. Unlike the entry-level trims, the GXR provides the essential comfort features required for the local climate without the complexity of higher-tier electronics. It remains the default choice for anyone needing a vehicle that can handle a Dubai-to-Muscat highway run as effortlessly as a weekend in the dunes.

This Car vs Other 2025 Land Cruisers

At 40,000 km in its first year, this vehicle's mileage is slightly above the GCC average of 25,000 km but perfectly normal for a commuter frequently traveling between emirates. In the local market, high-mileage Land Cruisers are often preferred over stationary ones as it proves the mechanical systems are well-maintained and broken in. The white exterior provides a significant resale advantage in the UAE, typically holding a higher value than darker shades.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim is a significant step up from the base GX, adding essential convenience features like a power-adjustable driver’s seat and a larger 12.3-inch infotainment display with wireless smartphone integration. It also introduces superior interior materials and additional USB charging ports throughout the cabin, which are vital for family trips. Crucially for the GCC, the GXR often includes enhanced climate control systems and front-row seat ventilation not found on entry-level utility specs.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

While the Nissan Patrol offers more raw horsepower, the Land Cruiser leads with its massive 110-litre fuel tank, providing superior range for long-distance desert crossings. Its body-on-frame construction is widely considered the benchmark for durability compared to monocoque rivals like the Land Rover Defender. Additionally, the Toyota's air conditioning system is specifically engineered to outperform European competitors in 45°C+ temperatures.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 is remarkably efficient for its size, averaging approximately 9.4 km/L in combined GCC driving conditions. Maintenance is exceptionally convenient with the region's largest authorized service network, and parts are readily available in every major city from Riyadh to Abu Dhabi. This model historically retains about 90% of its value after the first year, making it one of the safest financial investments in the automotive market.

Performance & Capability

With 271 hp and a full-time All-Wheel Drive system, this SUV is built for unstoppable progress across sand, gravel, and tarmac. The 235 mm ground clearance and specialized Crawl Control system allow it to navigate technical off-road terrain that would stop most luxury crossovers. On the highway, the 6-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smooth, low-RPM cruising, ensuring a quiet cabin even at 120 km/h.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is designed for genuine adult occupancy in the first two rows, with a versatile third row for family school runs. High-output rear AC vents ensure every passenger stays comfortable during the UAE summer, while the cooled center console box keeps beverages chilled on long drives. Acoustic glass helps isolate the cabin from wind noise, creating a refined environment for long-distance travel.

Safety

Safety is managed by a comprehensive suite including Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control, and Hill-Start Assist, all essential for the varied surfaces found in the GCC. The GXR includes front and rear parking sensors coupled with a high-definition rear camera to make maneuvering this full-size SUV effortless in tight city spaces. Multiple airbags and a reinforced ladder-frame chassis provide peace of mind for highway commuting.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants a near-new 300-series with the region's most reliable engine and best resale color, this GXR is a perfect choice. It’s an honest, capable workhorse that feels as right at a five-star hotel as it does in the middle of the Liwa desert.
