Summary

This Land Cruiser GXR hits the sweet spot for GCC buyers, combining the bulletproof 4.0L V6 with a premium featureset that ensures strong resale value. With a white exterior—the most sought-after color for heat reflection and market liquidity—this 2-year-old SUV is perfectly broken in for a long life in the region. The GXR trim bridges the gap between rugged utility and family comfort, offering essential off-road hardware alongside the tech upgrades local drivers prioritize. Whether you are navigating heavy city traffic in Riyadh or long highway stretches between emirates, the combination of Toyota's durability and regional GCC tuning makes this a standout choice. It represents a sensible investment in a segment where mechanical trust is the ultimate currency.

This Car vs Other 2024 Land Cruisers

With 62,000 km over 2 years, this vehicle sits at an average mileage for the GCC, where long-distance highway commutes are the norm. The white paint is a strategic advantage for the local market, offering the highest resale demand and better cabin cooling during peak summer months. It represents a modern 300-series platform that has already navigated its steepest depreciation curve while remaining under its prime mechanical life.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim adds significant value over the entry-level GX by introducing a power-adjustable driver seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and synthetic leather upholstery that is easier to maintain in sandy conditions. It also features a larger 9-inch or 12.3-inch infotainment display with wireless smartphone integration and upgraded LED fog lamps. These comfort-led additions are highly valued in the GCC used market compared to the more basic fleet-oriented lower trims.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Patrol and Chevrolet Tahoe, the Land Cruiser leads in overall market liquidity and long-term part availability across all seven GCC nations. Its 110-litre fuel tank provides a superior range for cross-border drives compared to most European rivals. While competitors might offer softer road manners, the Land Cruiser’s body-on-frame construction provides a level of durability for desert weekends that few monocoque SUVs can match.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 is a hallmark of reliability, typically requiring servicing every 10,000 km at any of the extensive authorized centers across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Expect a real-world combined fuel consumption of approximately 10.6 L/100km, though this varies in heavy stop-start city traffic. Historically, GCC-spec Land Cruisers retain about 80-85% of their value after three years, significantly outperforming American-spec imports and European luxury SUVs.

Performance & Capability

The 271 hp V6 is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission designed for longevity and smooth highway cruising. Off-road, the 312 mm ground clearance and Crawl Control system allow for confident navigation through deep sand dunes. The full-time all-wheel-drive system ensures stable handling on gravel tracks and provides a braked towing capacity of up to 2,500 kg for hauling trailers or boats.

Comfort & Cabin

This 7-seater layout features a tri-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents that are essential for maintaining passenger comfort during GCC summers. The cabin is well-insulated against road noise and features a versatile third row that folds flat to accommodate large grocery runs or camping gear. Wood-grain accents and a cooled center console refrigerator add a touch of executive utility for daily use.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include a comprehensive airbag system, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and Active Traction Control (A-TRAC) which is particularly effective on slippery sand. It also includes front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera to assist with the vehicle's large footprint in tight city parking. The 300-series platform further enhances occupant safety with a high-strength steel frame designed for maximum impact protection.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Land Cruiser GXR is the ideal choice for a family or professional seeking the region's most trusted 4x4 with the best possible resale protection.
