Summary

This 2022 Toyota RAV4 XLE offers an exceptional entry into the region's most popular SUV segment, featuring very low mileage of just 12,014 km. As a 4-year-old vehicle in the GCC, its usage is significantly below the local average, making it a standout choice for those seeking mechanical longevity. The XLE trim provides a perfect balance of essential tech and comfort, while the Grey exterior is a high-demand, resale-friendly choice for the local market. With its reliable 2.5L engine and All-Wheel Drive, it handles everything from city commutes in Dubai to weekend highway trips across the emirates with ease. For a buyer looking for Toyota's legendary reliability with modern features, this low-km example is a premier opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2022 RAV4s

With only 12,014 km on the odometer, this RAV4 has covered less than 4,000 km per year—far below the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC. This exceptionally low mileage provides a significant advantage in terms of mechanical wear and future resale value. The Grey exterior is a highly practical and popular choice in the region, known for maintaining its look in dusty conditions and holding value better than niche colors.

XLE vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the XLE trim adds several key convenience features over the base LE, including the Smart Key System with push-button start and dual-zone automatic climate control, which is essential for maintaining cabin comfort during intense summers. Safety is also enhanced with the inclusion of the Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert as standard, providing critical assistance on fast-moving multi-lane highways.

RAV4 vs Segment Rivals

The RAV4 consistently leads competitors like the Honda CR-V and Nissan X-Trail due to its superior resale value and the most extensive service network in the GCC. Its 8.4 inches of ground clearance is highly competitive in the crossover segment, allowing for more confidence when navigating sand-blown roads or gravel tracks during weekend escapes.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.5L powertrain is highly efficient for the region, returning approximately 8.7 L/100km in mixed conditions, while the 8-speed automatic transmission avoids the 'rubber-band' feel of CVT rivals. Toyota's authorized service centers are available in almost every major city across the UAE and wider GCC, ensuring parts are affordable and always in stock. Historically, the RAV4 maintains some of the highest residual values in the market, typically losing only 8–10% annually compared to 15%+ for some European rivals.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with the 203 hp Dynamic Force engine, this RAV4 delivers smooth, predictable power that is well-suited for merging onto 140 km/h highways. The All-Wheel Drive system features Multi-Terrain Select, allowing you to choose between Mud & Sand, Rock & Dirt, and Snow modes for added traction. Its 213 mm ground clearance ensures it can handle high curbs and uneven terrain better than most sedan-based crossovers.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the cabin is designed for long-distance family comfort with dual-zone climate control and rear-seat air vents to keep all passengers cool in high temperatures. The XLE trim features premium fabric seating and five USB ports to ensure everyone's devices stay charged on trips between emirates. Sound insulation is notable for its class, providing a quiet environment even at highway speeds.

Safety

This XLE comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense, a comprehensive suite including Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, and Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. These systems are particularly valuable for long-distance GCC highway driving, helping to mitigate fatigue and providing an extra layer of protection in fast-moving traffic. The 360-degree safety is rounded out by eight airbags and a reinforced body structure.

The bottom line

For a GCC buyer, this 2022 RAV4 XLE is the 'sweet spot' of value, offering nearly new mileage and high-demand features in a package that retains its value better than almost any other vehicle on the road today.
