Summary

This 2023 Mustang GT Premium offers a compelling opportunity for GCC buyers looking for modern muscle with a balanced mileage of 44,500 km. At three years old, its usage is exactly in line with typical UAE highway commuting, meaning it hasn't sat idle nor been overworked. The black-on-black convertible configuration is a perennial favorite in the region, ensuring strong resale demand compared to less conventional colors. As a GT Premium, it balances the raw power of the Coyote V8 with a cabin refined enough for daily use in city traffic. For the local buyer, this American spec model provides a high-performance entry point into the Mustang community at a more accessible value than regional equivalents.

This Car vs Other 2023 Mustangs

With 44,500 km on the odometer, this Mustang has averaged roughly 14,800 km per year, which is notably lower than the GCC average of 20,000 km. This lower-than-expected mileage for its age makes it a standout choice for buyers prioritizing mechanical longevity. The black exterior is a high-demand resale color in the UAE, consistently holding value better than brighter, niche shades.

GT PREMIUM vs Lower Trims

The GT Premium trim is a significant step up from the base GT, adding essential features for the Gulf climate like ventilated and heated leather-trimmed seats. It replaces the standard 6-speaker radio with a premium 12-speaker B&O sound system and a larger 8-inch SYNC 3 touchscreen. You also benefit from selectable drive modes and ambient interior lighting, which are not standard on lower V8 trims.

Mustang vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Chevrolet Camaro SS or Dodge Challenger R/T, the Mustang GT Premium offers a more tech-forward interior and a more refined convertible mechanism. Its 5.0L engine is widely regarded for having superior parts availability across the GCC compared to its American rivals. While the Challenger offers more raw trunk space, the Mustang's more agile chassis makes it better suited for the fast-paced lane changes of the E11 highway.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.0L V8 typically averages around 12-14 L/100km, depending on your balance of city idling and highway cruising. As an American spec vehicle, it offers a lower initial purchase price, though buyers should note that resale values are typically 15-20% lower than GCC spec counterparts. Maintenance is straightforward in the UAE, as Ford's specialized independent garages are plentiful, and most parts are interchangeable between regional and imported specs.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this car is the 435 hp Coyote V8, delivering a verified 0–100 km/h time of 5.2 seconds. This power is perfectly suited for the long, open stretches of desert highway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, where effortless overtaking is a necessity. The 10-speed automatic transmission is tuned to keep the engine in its power band while ensuring smooth shifts during heavy stop-start traffic in Riyadh or Dubai.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the GT Premium focuses on passenger comfort with standard dual-zone automatic climate control and powerful cooling vents designed for summer heat. The ventilated front seats are a genuine necessity for convertible driving in the GCC, allowing you to enjoy top-down weather during the cooler months. Despite being a performance car, the cabin is well-insulated, and the premium leather surfaces provide a luxury feel that rivals executive sedans.

Safety

This trim comes standard with the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite, including blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, which are invaluable for navigating multi-lane GCC highways. It also features lane-keeping assist and forward collision mitigation to provide an extra layer of protection during long commutes. The rearview camera and parking sensors make maneuvering this 2-door convertible into tight mall parking spots a simple task.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for an enthusiast who wants the full V8 convertible experience without the premium price tag of a GCC-spec listing. Its balanced mileage and high-spec interior make it a versatile daily driver that is ready for both the morning commute and weekend coastal drives.
