Summary

This 2024 Mustang Premium offers an ideal blend of modern performance and open-top lifestyle for the UAE, having reached just 41,000 km in its first two years. The Grey exterior is a highly resilient and popular resale choice in the GCC, effectively hiding desert dust while maintaining a sharp, modern aesthetic. As a Premium trim, it bridges the gap between raw muscle and daily refinement, featuring a significantly upgraded digital interior compared to earlier generations. For the GCC buyer, the turbocharged efficiency is a smart alternative to larger V8s for city commuting, providing ample overtaking power on the E11 without the heavy fuel overhead.

This Car vs Other 2024 Mustangs

With 41,000 km on the odometer, this two-year-old Mustang sits right at the expected average for a daily-driven vehicle in the GCC, where highway commuting often leads to higher annual mileage. The Grey exterior is a strategic advantage for local resale, consistently ranking as a top-three preferred color in the UAE market. Being the seventh-generation 'S650' model, it benefits from the latest tech architecture, making it a more future-proof investment than late-model S550 predecessors.

PREMIUM vs Lower Trims

The Premium trim is essential for the GCC climate, adding ventilated and heated front seats which are absent on the base EcoBoost model. It also elevates the cabin with a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.2-inch center touchscreen, creating a seamless glass cockpit. Additional upgrades include a premium 9-speaker audio system with an amplifier, wireless charging, and customizable ambient lighting that significantly improves the night-driving experience in the city.

Mustang vs Segment Rivals

The Mustang EcoBoost leads rivals like the BMW 420i Convertible and Audi A5 Cabriolet by offering significantly more horsepower (324 hp) at a more accessible price point. While European competitors focus on subtle refinement, the Mustang provides a more aggressive road presence and a larger dealer and parts network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Its 10-speed automatic transmission offers more gear ratios than the Chevrolet Camaro, resulting in smoother highway cruising at typical GCC speeds.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages approximately 9.0 L/100km on the highway, making it one of the most efficient ways to enjoy a convertible in the region. This American-spec vehicle offers a lower entry price than GCC-spec units, though buyers should note that local Ford agencies may require a one-time validation for service contracts. Maintenance is straightforward with 10,000 km intervals, and the high volume of Mustangs in the UAE ensures that spare parts are widely available at both authorized centers and specialized independent garages.

Performance & Capability

The 2.3L EcoBoost engine delivers a verified 0-100 km/h time of approximately 5.1 seconds, ensuring plenty of punch for merging onto fast-moving UAE highways. The 10-speed SelectShift automatic is tuned to keep the turbo in its power band, providing 475 Nm of torque that makes it feel much faster than a standard four-cylinder. The Rear Wheel Drive setup stays true to the Mustang heritage, while selectable drive modes allow the steering and throttle response to be softened for heavy Dubai traffic or sharpened for weekend drives through Jebel Jais.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for year-round GCC use, featuring dual-zone automatic climate control and a power-folding top that can be operated quickly when the sun goes down. The ActiveX synthetic leather-trimmed seats are durable against heat and humidity, while the active noise cancellation helps maintain a quiet environment even with the top up on the highway. Despite being a sporty convertible, it seats four and includes a trunk large enough for a weekend trip to Fujairah.

Safety

Safety is managed by the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite, which includes Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert—a vital feature for navigating multi-lane GCC highways. It also features Lane-Keeping Assist, Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, and a high-definition rearview camera. The revised S650 chassis includes advanced stability control systems that are specifically tuned to handle the occasional sandy surface encountered on regional roads.

The bottom line

This 2024 Mustang Premium is the perfect entry point for a buyer seeking the latest 'S650' tech and convertible freedom without the high running costs of a V8. It represents a sharp value opportunity for someone who values the upgraded ventilated interior and modern digital cockpit in a popular, resale-friendly color.
