Summary

This GCC-spec pickup offers a refined petrol alternative to the common diesel variants found across the region, delivering smoother acceleration for highway overtaking between emirates. As the top-tier Wildtrak trim, it bridges the gap between a rugged workhorse and a comfortable family SUV, making it ideal for those who need a bed for gear but want a premium cabin. The grey exterior is a highly strategic choice for the UAE market, as it effectively masks fine desert dust while maintaining a strong resale profile. With the responsive 2.3L EcoBoost engine, you get modern performance that handles long-distance GCC cruises with far more refinement than traditional utility trucks. This listing represents a versatile opportunity for a buyer who splits their time between city commutes and weekend outdoor pursuits.

This Car vs Other 2023 Rangers

With 71,500 km on the odometer, this Ranger has been driven approximately 23,800 km per year, which aligns perfectly with the typical GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km. Unlike many Rangers used in commercial fleets, this Wildtrak's condition reflects its use as a personal lifestyle vehicle. The grey paint is one of the most practical colors for the local climate, helping the vehicle look clean for longer between washes.

WILDTRAK vs Lower Trims

The Wildtrak trim is a significant step up from the XLT, adding essential GCC comfort features like leather-accented upholstery with signature stitching and a larger infotainment display. It also includes 18-inch alloy wheels and an upgraded exterior kit that provides a much more aggressive road presence. Most importantly for local buyers, it adds premium cabin tech and ambient lighting that isn't available on base work-spec models.

Ranger vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Toyota Hilux or Mitsubishi L200, the Ranger stands out for its car-like interior refinement and superior highway power from the turbocharged EcoBoost engine. While Japanese rivals are often preferred for pure agricultural work, the Ford leads in cabin technology and seating comfort for long drives. Its 10-speed automatic transmission offers a smoother experience in stop-start city traffic than the older gearboxes found in many competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.3L EcoBoost delivers a combined fuel consumption of approximately 10.7 L/100km, which remains competitive for a petrol-powered pickup in GCC conditions. Ford's authorized service network, managed by major distributors like Al Tayer in the UAE, ensures that genuine parts and specialized technicians are available across most major cities. Historically, the Ranger Wildtrak holds its value well in the used market, typically seeing a depreciation rate of 12-15% annually, which is strong for the American pickup segment.

Performance & Capability

This Ranger is a powerhouse for its size, offering 270 hp and 420 Nm of torque, which translates to a class-leading 3,500 kg maximum braked towing capacity. The All-Wheel Drive system is tuned for versatility, providing stable traction on wet paved roads and reliable performance for light desert excursions. Its 10-speed transmission keeps the engine in its power band, making it feel remarkably light on its feet during highway merging or when carrying a full payload.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Wildtrak is designed to handle the 45°C+ GCC summers with a powerful dual-zone climate control system and dedicated air vents for the rear passengers. The seats are designed for long-distance support, ensuring comfort during cross-country drives between Dubai and Muscat or Riyadh. High-quality cabin insulation keeps the desert heat and road noise at bay, while the intuitive SYNC infotainment system provides seamless smartphone integration for navigating the region's expanding road networks.

Safety

This trim comes standard with an impressive safety suite including a 360-degree camera and blind-spot monitoring, which are invaluable for navigating busy multi-lane highways. Adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist reduce fatigue on long desert stretches, while the robust stability control system is specifically calibrated for the unique grip levels found on sandy or gravel-strewn surfaces. Multiple airbags and a high-strength steel frame provide peace of mind for family use.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who needs the utility of a truck without sacrificing the tech and comfort of a modern SUV, this well-maintained Wildtrak is the perfect middle ground.
