Summary

This 2023 Hyundai Tucson in Blue offers a compelling balance of modern design and practical utility, especially for those seeking a near-new SUV with low mileage. With only 23,000 km, this vehicle sits well below the typical 45,000 km average for a two-year-old car in the GCC, representing a significant long-term ownership advantage. The 2.0L engine is a staple in the region, ensuring that finding qualified technicians and affordable spare parts is never a challenge from Muscat to Riyadh. For the UAE buyer, the bold exterior and tech-focused interior provide a premium feel without the high maintenance costs associated with luxury-branded rivals.

This Car vs Other 2023 Tucsons

At 23,000 km, this Tucson has seen significantly less road time than most 2023 models in the GCC market, where long-distance commutes often push annual mileage past 20,000 km. The Blue exterior is a refreshing alternative to the common white and silver, yet it remains a popular enough shade to maintain solid interest in the used market. For a buyer looking for a vehicle that feels mechanically fresh, this low-mileage example is a standout choice.

SMART vs Lower Trims

The SMART trim adds essential technology that enhances the daily driving experience, including an 8-inch touchscreen with integrated smartphone connectivity. Unlike base models, this trim focus on driver convenience, often including features like rear parking sensors and a rearview camera which are vital for navigating tight Dubai or Abu Dhabi parking spaces. It strikes the perfect balance for buyers who want modern tech without the added complexity of higher-spec panoramic roofs or larger wheels.

Tucson vs Segment Rivals

The Tucson leads rivals like the Mitsubishi ASX and Nissan Qashqai in pure cargo versatility, offering a generous 539-liter boot that easily accommodates family gear. When compared to the Toyota RAV4, the Tucson offers a more digitally-focused interior aesthetic and a daring lighting signature that stands out in GCC traffic. Its wheelbase is designed to maximize rear legroom, keeping adult passengers comfortable during cross-emirate trips.

Running Costs & Resale

With a combined fuel consumption of 8.1 L/100km, the 2.0L powertrain is highly efficient for highway cruising across the Emirates. Hyundai is one of the most supported brands in the region, meaning service intervals are predictable and authorized centers are widely available in every major GCC city. While American spec cars may have different warranty terms than local GCC spec models, the Tucson remains one of the top-performing SUVs for value retention, typically losing only 10-12% annually.

Performance & Capability

The 156 hp output provides a smooth and reliable driving experience for daily city traffic and steady highway cruising. While it is not designed for heavy dune bashing, the front-wheel-drive setup and 181 mm ground clearance make it more than capable for gravel paths, weekend camping trips, and handled the occasional rain-slicked road with ease. The 6-speed automatic transmission is tuned for comfort, ensuring gear shifts remain imperceptible during long desert drives.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed with the GCC summer in mind, featuring a powerful air conditioning system with dedicated rear vents to keep all five passengers cool. The seating layout is versatile, with 60/40 split-folding rear seats that expand the cargo area for larger mall runs or airport trips. High-quality cabin insulation helps minimize road and wind noise, providing a quiet sanctuary during fast-paced highway travel.

Safety

Safety is a priority in this trim, which comes equipped with a comprehensive airbag system and essential electronic stability controls. Standard features typically include Hill-Start Assist and Downhill Brake Control, which provide extra confidence when navigating ramps in multi-story parking garages or hilly terrain. The inclusion of a rear-view camera and parking sensors adds a layer of safety that is particularly useful in the high-density traffic environments of the UAE.

The bottom line

This low-mileage 2023 Tucson is the ideal opportunity for a small family or professional seeking a stylish, tech-forward SUV that is inexpensive to maintain and easy to resell in the GCC market.
