Summary

This 2023 Infiniti QX55 SENSORY is a compelling proposition for those seeking a premium coupe-SUV that balances bold aesthetics with a sophisticated driving experience. Given its relatively low mileage for its age within the GCC context, this vehicle represents a nearly new ownership experience without the initial depreciation hit of a showroom purchase. The SENSORY trim is the most desirable configuration for local buyers, offering the full suite of climate-controlled luxury and advanced technology that makes a significant difference during the intense summer months. Compared to its European rivals, the QX55 stands out by providing a higher level of standard equipment at a more competitive price point, particularly regarding its world-first Variable Compression Turbo engine technology. For a GCC buyer, the most important consideration is the combination of its striking design and the peace of mind offered by the extensive regional service network and proven reliability of the brand's premium SUV lineup. This specific unit is especially attractive due to its GCC-spec status, ensuring full compatibility with local fuel grades and cooling requirements.

This Car vs Other 2023 QX55s

At just over 34,000 km, this vehicle sits well below the average expected mileage for a 2023 model in the GCC, where 20,000 km to 25,000 km per year is common due to frequent inter-city travel between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This lower usage means less wear on the suspension and interior components, providing a tighter, more precise driving feel than higher-mileage examples on the market. The vibrant Red exterior is a bold choice that highlights the unique coupe-style silhouette, and while it is more distinctive than silver or white, it remains a popular choice for sportier SUVs in the UAE market, maintaining strong resale appeal for younger demographics. Choosing a GCC-spec 2023 model ensures the vehicle was manufactured to handle the specific thermal demands of the region, including upgraded radiators and air conditioning compressors. This car offers a distinct advantage over higher-mileage units by retaining more of its original manufacturer-backed benefits and overall mechanical freshness.

SENSORY vs Lower Trims

The SENSORY trim is the absolute pinnacle of the QX55 range, adding several high-value features that are absent in the LUXE or ESSENTIAL trims. The most noticeable upgrade is the 16-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system, which provides an immersive acoustic experience that lower trims cannot match. GCC buyers will particularly appreciate the SENSORY-exclusive climate-controlled front seats, which offer both heating and cooling—a critical comfort feature for our local climate. Additionally, this trim includes the sophisticated head-up display and an enhanced ambient lighting package that elevates the cabin's nighttime atmosphere on long highway drives. The inclusion of a motion-activated liftgate and premium semi-aniline leather seating surfaces further separates this trim from lower variants, providing a level of tactile luxury that justifies its higher resale value in the local market. For those who prioritize technology, the SENSORY trim also integrates the full ProPILOT Assist suite as standard, which is often an optional extra on more basic versions.

QX55 vs Segment Rivals

The QX55 competes in the highly competitive luxury coupe-SUV segment against the likes of the BMW X4 and the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe. While its German rivals often focus on firm sportiness, the Infiniti leads with a smoother ride quality and a more innovative powertrain in the form of its 2.0L VC-Turbo engine, which mechanically adjusts its compression ratio for better efficiency or power on demand. The QX55 also offers a more generous standard feature list; where rivals often charge extra for 360-degree cameras and advanced driver aids, these are baked into the SENSORY package. Its interior layout feels more intuitive for daily GCC use, featuring a dual-screen setup that allows for simultaneous navigation and media control. Furthermore, the QX55 provides a distinctive aesthetic that is less common on UAE roads than its rivals, offering a sense of exclusivity for the driver who wants to stand out in a sea of European crossovers.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs for the QX55 are highly competitive within the premium segment, with the 2.0L 4-cylinder engine delivering efficient fuel consumption on the long, straight highways connecting the Emirates. In typical GCC stop-start city traffic, the Variable Compression technology helps manage fuel usage effectively, requiring Super 98 or Special 95 petrol to maintain peak performance. Service intervals are generally every 10,000 km, and Infiniti’s authorized service network is exceptionally strong across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring that parts and expert technicians are always accessible. From a resale perspective, the QX55 SENSORY follows a predictable depreciation curve for a premium Japanese vehicle, typically losing between 12-15% annually, which is significantly better than some of its European counterparts. The 3-year mark is often where these vehicles represent the best value, and as a GCC-spec car, it will always command a premium over grey-market imports when it comes time to trade in or sell.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this vehicle is the revolutionary 2.0L VC-Turbo engine, which delivers a seamless blend of power and efficiency, making highway overtaking effortless on the E11 or E311 highways. The automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, providing a relaxed experience during executive commutes while still being responsive when you need a burst of speed. With its front-wheel-drive configuration, the QX55 is optimized for urban and highway efficiency rather than heavy off-roading, making it the perfect companion for city life in Dubai or Riyadh. The vehicle offers several drive modes, including a Sport mode that sharpens throttle response and steering weight for a more engaging feel. With a respectable 0-100 km/h time and stable handling at high speeds, it feels planted and secure even during the occasional windy conditions found on desert roads. The ground clearance is ample for navigating speed bumps and urban obstacles comfortably, ensuring the stylish bodywork remains protected during daily use.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside the QX55, the cabin is designed as a sanctuary from the exterior heat, featuring one of the most powerful and effective air conditioning systems in its class. The SENSORY trim’s semi-aniline leather seats are not only visually stunning in their tailored finish but also provide exceptional support for long cross-country drives. Rear passengers are well-catered for with dedicated cooling vents and a surprising amount of legroom despite the sloping coupe roofline. The active noise cancellation technology works in tandem with acoustic glass to keep the cabin whisper-quiet, shielding occupants from road and wind noise even at highway speeds. For the driver, the dual-screen infotainment system provides easy access to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the Bose Performance Series speakers deliver crystal-clear audio throughout the cabin. The boot space is intelligently designed to accommodate a full set of golf clubs or a weekend's worth of luggage for a family trip to Ras Al Khaimah, proving that style doesn't have to come at the expense of daily utility.

Safety

Safety is a hallmark of the SENSORY trim, which comes equipped with the ProPILOT Assist system, a suite of technologies that significantly reduces driver fatigue on long GCC highway stretches. This includes Intelligent Cruise Control and Steering Assist, which help maintain your lane and distance from the vehicle ahead even in heavy traffic. Blind Spot Warning and Intervention are particularly valuable on the UAE’s multi-lane roads, providing an extra layer of protection during fast-moving lane changes. The vehicle also features Predictive Forward Collision Warning, which can sense the speed and distance of two vehicles ahead, giving you more time to react to sudden braking. Standard 360-degree Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection makes parking in tight urban spaces simple and stress-free. With a 5-Star NCAP safety rating, the QX55 provides the structural integrity and advanced airbag systems necessary to protect all four occupants in the event of an incident.

The bottom line

This 2023 Infiniti QX55 SENSORY is the ideal choice for a style-conscious professional or a small family looking for a high-tech, GCC-ready SUV that stands out from the crowd. With its low mileage and top-tier trim level, it offers a premium, worry-free ownership experience that is perfectly suited to the demands of life in the Middle East.
