Infiniti QX55 ESSENTIAL 2.0

Highlights

• Most advanced ADAS standard
• Top-tier audio system standard
• Lowest depreciation in class

Summary

This 2023 Infiniti QX55 ESSENTIAL represents a sophisticated choice for GCC buyers seeking a crossover that balances avant-garde design with remarkable mechanical efficiency. With its exceptionally low mileage for the model year and its status as a GCC-spec vehicle, it offers a level of peace of mind and value retention that is hard to match in the premium segment. The White exterior is not only the most practical choice for the intense regional heat but also ensures the highest possible resale demand across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. As a luxury coupe-SUV, it stands out with a silhouette that breaks away from the traditional boxy SUV shape while offering the elevated driving position local drivers prefer. The VC-Turbo engine provides a unique blend of power and economy, making it an ideal companion for both the stop-start traffic of Sheikh Zayed Road and long-distance desert highway cruising. This specific listing is a standout opportunity to own a nearly-new premium vehicle that has already bypassed the steepest part of the depreciation curve while remaining in its prime operational window.

This Car vs Other 2023 QX55s

When comparing this specific unit to other 2023 QX55 models available in the GCC, the mileage is the primary differentiator. At just over 20,000 km, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the regional average, which typically reaches 25,000 km in the first year alone. This low usage means the interior materials, particularly the leather touchpoints and high-gloss trim, remain in near-showroom condition. The White exterior is the most sought-after color in the local market, offering superior thermal management during the peak summer months and holding its value better than darker alternatives. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it comes with the cooling systems and radiator specifications designed specifically for the Middle Eastern climate, unlike imported North American versions. This ensures that the vehicle maintains its performance integrity even when ambient temperatures exceed 45°C. For a buyer looking for a 2023 model, this specific car offers the ideal balance of a modern feature set and minimal wear.

ESSENTIAL vs Lower Trims

Choosing the ESSENTIAL trim over the entry-level LUXE provides a significant upgrade in both technology and luxury that is immediately noticeable in the GCC driving environment. This trim introduces the Bose Performance Series 16-speaker audio system, which delivers a studio-quality acoustic experience that effectively cancels out highway wind noise. You also gain the Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, an indispensable feature for navigating tight parking spots in Dubai's busy malls or underground garages. The ESSENTIAL trim includes climatized seating which is a critical luxury in our region, ensuring comfort within seconds of starting the car after it has been parked in the sun. Furthermore, this trim features the advanced navigation system and the ProPILOT Assist suite, which are often omitted or simplified in lower configurations. These additions not only enhance the daily driving experience but are the specific features that second-hand buyers look for, ensuring a faster and more profitable resale in the future.

QX55 vs Segment Rivals

The Infiniti QX55 competes in the highly contested luxury coupe-SUV segment against the likes of the BMW X4 and the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe. Where the Infiniti leads is in its unique VC-Turbo engine technology, which offers variable compression to maximize efficiency in a way its European rivals cannot easily match. The QX55 also offers a more generous standard feature list at this trim level, whereas German competitors often require expensive optional packages for features like 360-degree cameras and advanced driver aids. For the GCC driver, the Infiniti's air conditioning system is widely regarded as more robust and faster-acting than those found in many European counterparts, a vital consideration for local comfort. The interior layout is also more intuitive, focusing on physical controls and dual screens that are easier to operate while driving at highway speeds. Finally, the QX55 provides a softer, more compliant ride quality that is better suited to the long, straight highways of the UAE compared to the stiffer, track-oriented setups of its primary rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs for the QX55 are surprisingly manageable for a premium vehicle in the GCC. The 2.0L VC-Turbo engine is designed to run efficiently on local Super 98 or Special 95 petrol, with real-world fuel consumption averaging around 8.5 to 9.0 L/100km on highways and approximately 11.5 L/100km in heavy city traffic. Maintenance is straightforward, with Infiniti's extensive service network covering all major cities across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts are always readily available. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, which is standard for the region and involves routine checks that are competitively priced compared to European luxury brands. Historically, Infiniti models in the GCC enjoy a stable depreciation curve, typically losing about 12-15% annually, which is superior to many high-end brands that can see drops of up to 20%. The 3-year value retention for a GCC-spec QX55 in White remains among the highest in the crossover-coupe category, making this a safe financial move as well as a lifestyle choice.

Performance & Capability

The centerpiece of the performance profile is the world’s first production Variable Compression Turbo engine. This 2.0-cylinder powerhouse intelligently transforms its characteristics, providing high-compression efficiency when cruising and low-compression power when you need to overtake on the E11 highway. The automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, delivering power seamlessly to the front wheels while maintaining a quiet cabin environment. With a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 7 seconds, it feels punchy and responsive in urban settings. The ground clearance is ample for navigating speed bumps and occasional gravel tracks leading to weekend retreats, although the vehicle is firmly optimized for on-road sophistication. The steering is light and precise, making the SUV feel smaller and more agile than its dimensions suggest. For the long-distance traveler, the QX55 feels incredibly planted at high speeds, offering a level of stability that inspires confidence during cross-border drives between emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin of the QX55 ESSENTIAL is a masterclass in driver-centric design and passenger comfort, specifically tailored for the high-temperature GCC environment. The seating configuration for four ensures that every occupant has ample shoulder and hip room, with the rear seats offering a sliding and reclining function that is rare in the coupe-SUV segment. The dual-zone automatic climate control is exceptionally powerful, featuring rear vents that ensure back-seat passengers remain cool even in mid-August. The use of premium materials, including soft-touch plastics and genuine leather appointments, creates a sanctuary from the bustling city streets. Active Noise Cancellation technology works in tandem with the acoustic glass to keep the roar of the desert wind at bay, allowing the Bose audio system to shine. The dual-screen infotainment setup allows you to keep navigation active on the top screen while managing media or vehicle settings on the bottom, minimizing distraction and maximizing utility for the modern tech-savvy driver.

Safety

Safety in the 2023 QX55 ESSENTIAL is comprehensive, featuring a suite of technologies that are particularly relevant for the fast-paced driving conditions of the GCC. The ProPILOT Assist system combines steering assist and intelligent cruise control to reduce driver fatigue during the long, monotonous stretches of highway between cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Blind Spot Warning and Intervention are critical features for navigating the multi-lane highways where high-speed lane changes are common. The vehicle also includes Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection and Predictive Forward Collision Warning, which can monitor the speed and distance of not just one, but two vehicles ahead. This 'look-ahead' capability is a significant safety advantage in heavy traffic. Additionally, the high-strength cabin construction and a comprehensive airbag system provide top-tier protection, ensuring that this stylish crossover is as safe as it is visually striking.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec QX55 ESSENTIAL is the perfect acquisition for a professional who demands a vehicle with a bold presence and high-tech features without the high maintenance overhead of European rivals. Its low mileage and popular color make it one of the most sensible premium purchases currently available in the local market.
