Summary

This 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Plus strikes a perfect balance between refined city driving and the rugged capability Jeep is known for in the UAE. With mileage that sits comfortably at the expected average for a modern SUV in the GCC, it offers a well-maintained entry into the premium SUV segment. The Grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the region, masking desert dust effectively while maintaining strong resale appeal. As a Limited Plus trim, it bridges the gap between everyday utility and high-end luxury, making it a versatile choice for families who enjoy weekend escapes to the mountains or desert. The Pentastar V6 engine is a time-tested workhorse, ensuring reliable performance across long highway stretches between emirates.

This Car vs Other 2023 Grand Cherokees

At 52,165 km, this vehicle's mileage is exactly in line with the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average for GCC drivers, suggesting it has been used primarily for standard commuting and highway travel. The Grey exterior is one of the most resilient colors for the local climate, offering better heat management than black while holding its value significantly better than non-standard shades. Choosing a 2023 model ensures you benefit from the latest WL-generation redesign, providing a much more modern interior and tech suite than the previous generation.

LIMITED PLUS vs Lower Trims

The Limited Plus trim is a significant step up from the base Laredo, adding essential GCC luxuries such as ventilated front seats and a larger 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen with integrated navigation. Unlike lower trims, it typically includes a 360-degree Surround View camera and the premium Alpine 9-speaker audio system, which are major selling points in the local used market. It also upgrades the cabin with Capri leather-trimmed seating and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, features that are highly sought after by premium SUV buyers in the region.

Grand Cherokee vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Ford Explorer or the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, the Grand Cherokee leads with a more car-like, refined ride quality thanks to its monocoque construction while retaining superior off-road hardware. Its Selec-Terrain system is more intuitive for casual desert drivers than the more complex setups in some Japanese competitors. Additionally, the cabin technology and screen resolution in this generation of Jeep generally outclass the aging interfaces found in many similarly priced SUVs in the mid-size segment.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.6L Pentastar V6 typically returns a combined fuel consumption of approximately 10.4 L/100km, which is efficient for a full-size 4WD vehicle on long GCC highway runs. Maintenance is straightforward with a massive network of authorized service centers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the wider GCC, ensuring parts are always readily available. Resale value for the Grand Cherokee remains strong in the local market, typically seeing a depreciation rate of 12-15% annually, which is competitive for American SUVs in this class. Its GCC specification is a critical factor for local buyers, ensuring the cooling system and AC are optimized for 45°C+ summer peaks.

Performance & Capability

The 3.6-litre V6 delivers a reliable 293 hp, capable of taking this SUV from 0-100 km/h in approximately 9.0 seconds, providing plenty of punch for highway overtaking. The Selec-Terrain system allows you to toggle between Sand/Mud, Snow, and Auto modes, instantly recalibrating the four-wheel-drive system for UAE weekend adventures. With a braked towing capacity of over 2,800 kg, it is also perfectly suited for hauling jet skis or small trailers to the coast. The Quadra-Trac 4WD system provides constant grip, whether you are navigating a rain-slicked highway or a gravel track in the northern emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the five-seat layout offers ample legroom for adult passengers and a cavernous boot space for family gear. The air conditioning is specifically engineered for the Middle East, featuring dedicated rear vents to keep all passengers cool during extreme summer heat. Acoustic windshield glass and active noise cancellation ensure the cabin remains a quiet sanctuary even at high highway speeds. The inclusion of ventilated front seats is a genuine necessity for the region, significantly improving comfort during the long summer months.

Safety

This trim comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, which is invaluable for the daily commute between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Standard safety features include Blind Spot Monitoring, Active Lane Management, and Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking. For easier parking in tight urban spaces, the 360-degree camera and ParkSense sensors provide full visibility, while the high-strength steel chassis offers top-tier occupant protection as evidenced by its 5-star NHTSA safety rating.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a tech-forward family SUV that won't shy away from a desert trail, this Limited Plus trim is the sweet spot of the 2023 lineup. It offers a premium ownership experience with manageable running costs, making it a smart, high-value alternative to more expensive luxury rivals.
