Summary

This 2023 Kia Seltos EX is a standout compact crossover for the GCC market, offering a high-feature trim that balances urban practicality with long-distance comfort. Its white exterior is the most sought-after color for local resale, effectively managing cabin temperatures in the extreme summer heat while maintaining strong market value. With just over 77,000 km, the mileage reflects consistent highway use, which is typical for the region and a testament to the car's mechanical durability. The EX trim adds key refinements over the base model, making it a more premium daily driver for small families or professionals. Backed by a wide service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, this Seltos provides reliable ownership and predictable running costs.

This Car vs Other 2023 Seltos

At 77,295 km, this vehicle's mileage is average for a 2023 model in the GCC, where annual highway commutes often reach 25,000 km. The white exterior is a strategic choice for local buyers, as it significantly aids in heat reflection and consistently commands the highest demand in the used market. Choosing this specific unit ensures you are getting a well-used but well-maintained example of Kia's most popular regional crossover.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim is a significant upgrade over the LX, adding features that are essential for the GCC climate and lifestyle. It introduces a larger 10.25-inch infotainment screen with navigation, a sunroof, and front ventilated seats which are a luxury necessity during peak summer. Additionally, the EX trim includes synthetic leather upholstery and a wireless charging pad, providing a much more sophisticated cabin environment than the entry-level models.

Seltos vs Segment Rivals

The Seltos competes directly with the Hyundai Kona and Nissan Kicks, leading the segment in cargo flexibility with a 433-litre boot that easily accommodates family weekend gear. While rivals offer similar dimensions, the Seltos stands out with its more upright, SUV-like driving position and robust air conditioning system, which is widely recognized as one of the best for cooling large cabins quickly in desert conditions.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy for the 1.6L powertrain is efficient, averaging approximately 6.1 L/100km on GCC highways and 7.5 L/100km in stop-start city traffic. Kia's massive authorized service network under Al Majid and Al Jabr ensures that parts are readily available and maintenance is affordable across the UAE and KSA. The Seltos retains its value exceptionally well, typically depreciating only 8-10% annually, which is competitive with top-tier Japanese rivals.

Performance & Capability

The 1.6-litre engine is tuned for smooth power delivery, making highway overtaking predictable and comfortable. It features selectable terrain modes, allowing drivers to optimize traction for sand or gravel surfaces often encountered on weekend trips. The Front Wheel Drive system is paired with a responsive automatic transmission, providing a light and agile feel that is perfect for navigating tight urban environments like Dubai Marina or Riyadh's city center.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Seltos offers a surprisingly spacious environment for five adults, with generous rear legroom that punches above its class. The automatic climate control system is supplemented by rear air vents, ensuring all passengers stay cool during the hottest months. High-quality materials and acoustic windshield glass help insulate the cabin from road noise during high-speed highway cruising between emirates.

Safety

This EX trim comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite designed for fast-moving GCC traffic. Standard features include Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, providing essential protection on multi-lane highways. Additionally, the 360-degree camera and parking sensors make maneuvering this crossover effortless in crowded urban areas.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a modern, fuel-efficient crossover with premium features and the region's best resale color, this Seltos EX represents a reliable and smart investment.
