Summary

This 2023 Rolls-Royce Ghost EWB represents the ultimate executive transport for the GCC, offering an extra 170mm of rear legroom over the standard model. With 53,000 km, this vehicle is entering its peak usability phase, having been maintained to the high standards expected of the brand in a European context. Black remains the most sought-after resale color in the UAE and wider Gulf market, ensuring strong liquidity when it comes time to upgrade. For the executive buyer who alternates between driving and being chauffeured, this V12-powered sedan provides a level of isolation and road presence that even high-end rivals cannot match. As a European spec, it offers a distinct opportunity for those prioritizing a specific interior configuration or immediate availability outside the standard regional allocations.

This Car vs Other 2023 Ghosts

With 53,000 km, this Ghost has seen active use typical of a primary executive vehicle in the GCC, where highway-heavy commuting often pushes annual averages higher than elsewhere. While the mileage is higher than occasional 'weekend-only' examples, it reflects a mechanically exercised car that has bypassed the steep initial depreciation curve. The black exterior is a dominant choice in the UAE, providing a significant resale advantage over brighter or more niche palettes.

EWB vs Lower Trims

The Extended Wheelbase (EWB) trim is defined by its 170mm stretch, nearly all of which is dedicated to rear-seat knee room without compromising the car's sleek proportions. Beyond the space, this trim typically includes high-value regional essentials like ventilated rear seats, individual rear theatre configuration, and the iconic Starlight Headliner as standard. It serves as a middle ground between the driver-centric standard Ghost and the massive Phantom, making it highly desirable for the UAE market.

Ghost vs Segment Rivals

The Ghost EWB leads the Bentley Flying Spur and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class in pure brand prestige and cabin silence. Its hand-built V12 is tuned for low-end torque, providing a more effortless 'waft' than the more aggressive Bentley, while its bespoke interior materials outclass the production-based Maybach. For long drives between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the Rolls-Royce's Planar Suspension system offers a level of vibration isolation that is unique in this segment.

Running Costs & Resale

Expect real-world fuel consumption of approximately 16.7 L/100km combined, though GCC city traffic may see this rise. As a European specification car, buyers should ensure service compatibility at UAE authorized centers, though the brand’s global network is well-established in major cities like Dubai and Riyadh. Depreciation for a Rolls-Royce in the GCC is typically around 15–20% annually, though the EWB trim and black color help stabilize value better than standard-wheelbase imports.

Performance & Capability

The 563 hp V12 engine propels this 2.5-ton sedan from 0–100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds, ensuring effortless highway overtaking on the E11. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, though the car is designed for refined high-speed cruising rather than sport dynamics. Its rear-wheel-drive configuration and satellite-aided transmission pre-select gears based on GPS data to ensure the smoothest possible transition through regional terrain.

Comfort & Cabin

The EWB cabin is a sanctuary against the GCC heat, featuring a multi-zone climate control system that is among the most powerful in the industry. The rear compartment is equipped with ventilated seats and dedicated entertainment screens, perfect for family or business use during long summer drives. Thick acoustic glazing and extensive soundproofing ensure the interior remains a quiet retreat from fast-moving highway noise and desert wind.

Safety

Safety is managed by a comprehensive suite of ADAS features, including Night Vision with pedestrian detection, which is particularly useful on unlit desert roads. The car features adaptive cruise control and a 360-degree camera system to assist with navigating tight urban parking in major GCC hubs. A robust 8-airbag system and high-strength steel chassis provide world-class protection for all five occupants.

The bottom line

For the UAE professional who demands the prestige of a Rolls-Royce with the practical space of a long-wheelbase limousine, this black-on-black EWB is the quintessential choice. It offers significant savings over a new delivery while maintaining the peerless road presence of the world's premier luxury brand.
