Summary

This 2023 Black Badge Ghost represents the more assertive side of Rolls-Royce, perfectly suited for the GCC's high-speed lifestyle. With its hand-built V12 and distinctive darkened aesthetic, it offers a more driver-focused experience than the standard model while maintaining peerless refinement. The Black on Black configuration is the most coveted combination in the regional market, ensuring strong resale prospects for the future. Having covered roughly 18,500 km per year, it has been driven efficiently on the UAE’s well-maintained highway network. For the buyer who demands the absolute peak of automotive craftsmanship with a rebellious edge, this Ghost remains the definitive choice.

This Car vs Other 2023 Ghosts

While typical GCC annual mileage for ultra-luxury sedans often hovers around 20,000 km, this example sits comfortably within the expected range for a daily-driven executive vehicle. Its Black Diamond finish and blacked-out 'Spirit of Ecstasy' provide a significant resale advantage in the local market, where monochrome specifications are highly prized. This car has been utilized primarily for highway commuting between emirates, ensuring the mechanical components have been kept in optimal operating conditions.

BLACK BADGE vs Lower Trims

Choosing the Black Badge over the standard Ghost grants access to a more potent 592 hp powertrain and a unique 'Low' mode that sharpens the gear shifts and enhances the exhaust note. The trim adds high-tech Carbon Fiber Technical Veneer throughout the cabin and exclusive 21-inch composite wheels, features that GCC buyers specifically seek out. You also benefit from the upgraded Planar suspension system, specifically tuned in this trim for reduced body roll during cornering.

Ghost vs Segment Rivals

Against rivals like the Bentley Flying Spur or the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, the Ghost leads with its 'Magic Carpet Ride' quality and a far more imposing presence on the road. Its larger displacement V12 provides effortless torque that competitors struggle to match without feeling strained. The interior insulation is widely regarded as the quietest in the segment, a critical factor for comfort during the UAE's intense summer months.

Running Costs & Resale

The Ghost Black Badge requires 98 octane fuel to maintain its performance standards, with real-world consumption averaging approximately 15.8 L/100km. Service intervals are recommended every 12,000 km or annually, and with authorized centers in every major GCC city, maintenance is convenient for cross-border travelers. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains a higher percentage of its value compared to non-regional imports, typically depreciating at a more stable rate of 12-15% annually.

Performance & Capability

The most impressive figure is the 900 Nm of torque, which allows this 2.5-ton sedan to reach 100 km/h in a verified 4.7 seconds with total composure. The all-wheel-drive system and rear-wheel steering make it surprisingly agile for its size, which is especially useful when navigating tight valet spots in Dubai or Riyadh. On long desert highways, the electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h is reached with a level of silence that few other machines can replicate.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is a sanctuary of Black Badge Technical Fiber and fine leather, featuring the legendary Starlight Headliner standard. Ventilated seats in both the front and rear are essential for the GCC climate, ensuring immediate relief from the heat after the car has been parked. The quad-zone climate control is engineered to maintain cabin temperatures even in 50°C heat, complemented by thick acoustic glass that isolates passengers from city noise.

Safety

This Ghost features a full ADAS suite including Night Vision with pedestrian recognition, which is invaluable for unlit desert roads. Adaptive cruise control and Lane Departure Warning provide peace of mind on the long highway stretches between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The 360-degree camera system with a 3D view ensures that every inch of the car’s hand-polished coachwork is protected during parking.

The bottom line

For the executive who wants the ultimate expression of power and prestige, this GCC-spec Black Badge Ghost offers the perfect balance of modern tech and traditional V12 soul.
