Summary

This 2022 Ghost Black Badge represents a sophisticated opportunity in the GCC market, offering a darkened, more assertive aesthetic that commands high resale interest in the region. With just 11,300 km, this 4-year-old example has been driven significantly less than the typical 20,000 km annual average for luxury sedans in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The Black Badge trim is the most sought-after configuration for the Ghost, providing a sharper driving character and more power than the standard model. Finished in classic black, it aligns perfectly with local market preferences for high-value color retention. For a GCC buyer, this is a chance to own a modern-generation Ghost that balances post-opulent refinement with a genuinely potent V12 presence.

This Car vs Other 2022 Ghosts

With only 11,300 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits well below the average mileage expected for a 4-year-old car in the GCC, where long-distance highway commutes are standard. The European specification ensures a high level of interior finish, and the black exterior remains the strongest resale color for the Ghost model across the Middle East. It presents a mechanical and aesthetic advantage over higher-mileage regional examples.

Black Badge vs Lower Trims

The Black Badge trim is a significant mechanical and aesthetic step up from the standard Ghost, adding a darkened chrome Spirit of Ecstasy and carbon fiber 'Technical Fibre' interior veneers. It features a specific 'Low' mode on the gear selector that sharpens the 8-speed transmission and opens the exhaust baffles for a more vocal V12 note. GCC buyers also benefit from the upgraded Planar suspension system, specifically tuned in this trim for more urgent handling without sacrificing the marque's signature ride quality.

Ghost vs Segment Rivals

While cross-shopped with the Bentley Flying Spur and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, the Ghost leads with its bespoke Architecture of Luxury aluminum spaceframe, shared with the flagship Phantom. The 6.8L V12 offers a level of effortless torque that outclasses the V8 options often found in rivals, making it superior for high-speed stability on the E11 or long desert highways. The Ghost's cabin insulation is widely regarded as the quietest in its class, providing better isolation from the intense GCC summer heat and road noise.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages approximately 15.8 L/100km, a figure that remains consistent during long-distance GCC highway cruises. Service intervals are typically required every 15,000 km, and Rolls-Royce maintains a strong authorized service presence in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, and Doha. The Black Badge trim historically retains its value better than the base Ghost in the local market, with a slower annual depreciation rate due to its high desirability among enthusiast owners.

Performance & Capability

The headline figure is the massive 900 Nm of torque, available from just 1,700 rpm, which allows this 2.5-ton sedan to reach 100 km/h in a verified 4.7 seconds. Its top speed is electronically governed at 250 km/h, providing ample headroom for the fast-paced driving conditions found on UAE and Saudi inter-city routes. The Satellite Aided Transmission uses GPS data to pre-select gears based on the road ahead, ensuring seamless power delivery through every curve.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior features the Shooting Star Headliner, a high-value option that creates a celestial atmosphere perfect for night drives across the Emirates. With four-zone climate control and heavily insulated acoustic glass, the cabin remains a sanctuary even when external temperatures exceed 45 degrees Celsius. The 'Post Opulent' design philosophy ensures the technology remains discreet, focusing instead on the tactile quality of the leather and the unique Technical Fibre dashboard.

Safety

This Ghost comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including Night Vision with pedestrian and wildlife detection—essential for safe driving on unlit desert roads. The 'Flagbearer' camera system scans the road surface ahead to adjust the suspension pro-actively, ensuring the car remains stable and composed over any surface. Additional safety systems include active cruise control, lane-change warning, and a high-resolution 360-degree camera system for navigating tight city parking.

The bottom line

This is an exceptional opportunity for a GCC collector or executive to acquire a low-mileage, modern Black Badge Ghost that offers a more aggressive edge than the standard model. It is the ideal choice for those who want the prestige of a Rolls-Royce with the performance to match the region's fast-moving lifestyle.
