Summary

This 2023 Toyota Prado TXL3 represents one of the most practical and dependable investments for the GCC driver, offering the sought-after 4.0L V6 powertrain. With 35,000 km on the clock, this vehicle is well below the regional annual mileage average, ensuring it remains in its mechanical prime for years to come. The grey exterior is a neutral, high-demand choice that maintains strong resale appeal across UAE and Saudi markets. As a GCC-spec model, it is purpose-built to handle extreme summer heat and long-distance desert highway runs with unmatched cooling efficiency. For a buyer seeking the perfect middle ground between a daily family commuter and a rugged weekend explorer, this specific listing is a standout opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2023 Prados

With only 35,000 km, this Prado has been driven significantly less than the typical 25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC. The grey exterior provides a sophisticated look while offering better heat management and higher resale stability than darker tones in the local market. As a late-model example of the proven 150-series platform, it avoids the first-year complexity of newer redesigns while retaining peak mechanical maturity.

TXL3 vs Lower Trims

The TXL3 trim is a major step up for GCC buyers, replacing basic cloth with premium leather upholstery and adding essential power-adjustable seats. Unlike the entry-level TXL1, this grade features a built-in refrigerator (cool box) in the center console and a sunroof, both of which are high-value additions for regional driving culture. You also get enhanced tech including a larger touchscreen and a rear-view camera, providing a more executive feel than the workhorse-focused lower trims.

Prado vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Mitsubishi Pajero, the Prado offers superior resale value retention and a more refined 6-speed automatic transmission. While rivals like the Ford Explorer lean toward road comfort, the Prado's body-on-frame construction and full-time 4WD system provide genuine desert capability that few in this segment can match. Its massive 150-liter fuel tank capacity (standard on GCC V6 models) also gives it a significant range advantage for cross-border trips between the Emirates and Oman or Saudi Arabia.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 engine typically averages between 11L and 13L/100km on the highway, though city stop-start traffic can see figures rise toward 15L/100km. Toyota boasts the most extensive authorized service network in the region, with centers available in every major city across the UAE and KSA, ensuring parts are always affordable and accessible. Historically, a GCC-spec V6 Prado retains approximately 85-90% of its value after three years, making it one of the safest financial choices in the automotive market.

Performance & Capability

The 271 hp V6 engine provides smooth, linear power delivery that is particularly effective for highway overtaking and navigating soft sand dunes. Equipped with a low-range transfer case and center differential lock, this Prado is a true 4x4 capable of handling serious off-road terrain. A 215 mm ground clearance ensures you can clear typical desert obstacles and rocky wadis with confidence during weekend expeditions.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is highly versatile, featuring flat-folding rear rows that expand cargo space for family camping trips. A powerful, GCC-tuned multi-zone climate control system ensures the cabin reaches comfortable temperatures rapidly, even when ambient heat exceeds 45°C. The TXL3’s leather-trimmed interior and acoustic glass provide a quiet, premium environment that insulates passengers from both road noise and the harsh outdoor climate.

Safety

This trim includes a comprehensive safety suite featuring front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, and multiple airbags for all rows. Standard electronic aids such as Active Traction Control (A-TRC), Vehicle Stability Control, and Hill-start Assist Control provide vital stability on loose sand and fast-moving multi-lane highways. The Prado’s high seating position further enhances safety by providing excellent visibility over traffic.

The bottom line

This is the definitive choice for a GCC resident who needs a 'bulletproof' family SUV that holds its value as well as it holds the road, now available with exceptionally low mileage for its year.
