Summary

This 2020 Toyota Prado VXR is a benchmark choice for GCC buyers, combining the flagship V6 powertrain with the region's most resilient trim. At just under 98,000 km, this white example has maintained an average annual mileage below the typical 25,000 km standard for SUVs in this market, signaling careful private use rather than heavy industrial or rental duty. The white exterior remains the top choice for UAE buyers, offering superior heat reflection and the strongest possible resale demand. As the top-tier VXR model, it bridges the gap between rugged off-roader and luxury family hauler with ease. For any long-term owner in the GCC, the unmatched parts availability and vast Toyota service network make this listing a secure financial and mechanical decision.

This Car vs Other 2020 Prados

With 97,697 km on the clock, this Prado sits well below the high-mileage threshold typically seen for four-year-old SUVs in the UAE. While many comparable 2020 models have exceeded 120,000 km due to long inter-city commutes, this example represents a lower-than-average usage case. The white exterior color is a significant advantage, as it is the fastest-selling color in the local used market and maintains its paint quality better under the intense GCC sun.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR is the flagship trim, significantly upgrading the cabin experience over the EXR and GXR models with premium leather upholstery and an advanced 9-inch infotainment system. Key features sought after by GCC buyers, such as the integrated cool box for beverages and ventilated front seats, are standard here, providing essential relief during summer months. It also features upgraded LED lighting and a more sophisticated instrument cluster that distinguishes it from the more utility-focused base trims.

Prado vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Mitsubishi Montero Sport or the Nissan Pathfinder, the Prado leads in sheer fuel range thanks to its 150-litre dual-tank configuration, which is vital for long-distance driving across the Emirates or into Oman. Its body-on-frame construction offers superior durability on gravel tracks and desert terrain compared to monocoque rivals. Additionally, the Prado's air conditioning system is widely regarded as one of the most effective in the industry for rapid cabin cooling in 45°C+ temperatures.

Running Costs & Resale

Toyota Prados are famous for having the lowest depreciation rates in the GCC, typically retaining a much higher percentage of their value after three years compared to American or European rivals. The 4.0L V6 petrol engine is engineered for 95-octane fuel and is perfectly suited for the stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh, with service intervals every 10,000 km. Parts are available in every major city across the region, keeping long-term maintenance costs predictable and affordable.

Performance & Capability

The 4.0L V6 produces a robust 271 hp and 385 Nm of torque, ensuring effortless highway overtaking even with a full load of seven passengers. While its body-on-frame design is built for the desert, it provides a stable and commanding view of the road for daily commutes. With 215 mm of ground clearance and a selectable 4WD system featuring low-range gearing, it remains one of the most capable vehicles for weekend camping trips and light dune bashing.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is highly versatile, featuring flat-folding rear rows to accommodate extra cargo when needed. The cabin is specifically insulated to minimize heat transfer, supported by a tri-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents to ensure all passengers stay cool. The inclusion of a center console refrigerator and premium soft-touch materials throughout the VXR interior creates a refined environment for both city driving and long-distance travel.

Safety

Safety is a priority in the VXR trim, which comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of seven airbags and a 360-degree camera system to assist with parking in tight urban spaces. Active safety features include Traction Control (TRC), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and Blind Spot Monitoring, which are particularly useful on fast-moving GCC highways. The robust chassis also provides a high level of passive protection for all seven occupants.

The bottom line

This VXR is the ideal match for a family looking for a high-spec, reliable SUV that will hold its value better than almost anything else on the road. It offers the perfect balance of luxury features and legendary Toyota durability in the most desirable regional specification.
