Summary

This 2023 Toyota Prado GXR is a standout choice in the GCC market, combining a relatively low 41,912 km mileage with the region’s most sought-after white exterior for maximum resale protection. The 4.0L V6 engine is widely considered the gold standard for this model, providing the necessary power for confident highway overtaking and desert excursions that the four-cylinder variants lack. As a mid-tier GXR, it balances legendary durability with essential modern comforts like tri-zone climate control and a sunroof. For a buyer in the UAE or wider Gulf, this listing represents one of the safest automotive investments possible, supported by a massive parts and service network. Owning a Prado ensures peace of mind through extreme summer heat and long-distance cross-border drives.

This Car vs Other 2023 Prados

With approximately 41,900 km, this vehicle sits below the average annual mileage of 25,000 km typically seen for SUVs in the highway-centric GCC market. The white exterior is a strategic advantage, as it is the highest-demand color for resale in the region and helps reflect heat during peak summer months. Finding a two-year-old V6 Prado with this mileage profile offers a significant buying advantage over high-use fleet or rental examples.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim provides a significant step up from the base EXR, most notably adding a sunroof and integrated roof rails that enhance both utility and aesthetic appeal. Inside, it upgrades the ownership experience with tri-zone automatic climate control—a critical feature for cooling a 7-seat cabin in the Gulf—and a larger 9-inch infotainment display. It also features 19-inch alloy wheels and a total of seven airbags, compared to the dual-airbag setup found in entry-level trims.

Prado vs Segment Rivals

The Prado consistently leads rivals like the Mitsubishi Pajero and Nissan Pathfinder in terms of sheer off-road hardware, featuring a dedicated low-range transfer case and superior ground clearance. Its massive 150-litre fuel tank capacity is a major differentiator, offering a cruising range that few competitors can match on long desert highway stretches between cities like Dubai and Riyadh. Furthermore, the Prado’s resale value remains the benchmark for the mid-size SUV segment across all GCC territories.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 engine delivers a real-world combined fuel consumption of approximately 12.5 to 13 L/100km, which is competitive for a permanent 4WD vehicle of this size. Toyota’s authorized service network is the most extensive in the region, with centers readily available from Al Futtaim in the UAE to Abdul Latif Jameel in Saudi Arabia. Depreciation for a GCC-spec Prado is among the lowest in the market, typically losing only 8–10% of its value annually compared to 15% or more for European rivals.

Performance & Capability

The 271 hp V6 engine provides a robust 381 Nm of torque, ensuring the Prado never feels underpowered when climbing dunes or merging onto fast-moving 140 km/h highways. It features a full-time four-wheel-drive system with a Torsen limited-slip center differential and a selectable low-range gearbox for serious off-road recovery. With a 700mm wading depth and 219mm of ground clearance, it is purpose-built to handle both urban flooding and rugged weekend wadi adventures.

Comfort & Cabin

The 7-seat interior is designed for family logistics, featuring a versatile folding third row and a cooled center console (Cool Box) to keep beverages chilled during summer drives. The GXR’s tri-zone climate control allows rear passengers to adjust their own cooling, which is essential for maintaining comfort during 45°C+ afternoons. Acoustic glass and high-quality cabin insulation ensure a quiet environment even when cruising at high speeds on the E11 or other major regional arteries.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on this GXR trim, featuring seven airbags including side-curtain and driver’s knee protection. Standard electronic aids include Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Active Traction Control (A-TRC), and Hill-start Assist, which are particularly effective on loose sand and gravel surfaces. The inclusion of a rear-view camera and front/rear parking sensors makes navigating tight city parking in Dubai or Doha effortless for a vehicle of this size.

The bottom line

Perfect for a GCC family looking for a bulletproof daily driver that holds its value better than almost anything else on the road. This specific V6 GXR listing is a rare find due to its low mileage and ideal regional specification.
