Summary

This 2024 BMW X7 xDrive40i M Sport is a standout family SUV, offering a massive 375 hp (with 381 hp peak output) from its silk-smooth mild-hybrid inline-six. At two years old with 44,258 km, its mileage is exactly on par for a luxury GCC vehicle, suggesting a balanced history of highway use and city commutes. The M Sport trim is highly coveted in the UAE and Saudi markets for its aggressive styling and superior resale strength compared to the base Excellence trim. Finished in a professional Blue that holds value well locally, this seven-seater provides the perfect blend of presence and practicality. For the GCC buyer, the standard five-zone climate control ensures every passenger stays cool during the intense summer months.

This Car vs Other 2024 X7s

With 44,258 km on the clock, this X7 has averaged approximately 22,000 km per year, which is typical for a family SUV in the GCC where long-distance highway driving is standard. Its mileage is considered average for the 2024 model year, but the M Sport packaging makes it significantly more desirable for local resale than the standard xDrive40i. The Blue exterior is a strong, stable color choice that consistently performs well in the used markets of Dubai and Riyadh.

xDrive40i M Sport vs Lower Trims

The M Sport trim is a substantial step up from the base model, adding an aerodynamic body kit, Shadowline high-gloss exterior trim, and upgraded M design wheels that command a premium in the GCC. Inside, it replaces the standard steering wheel with an M leather version and typically includes high-demand features like the 360-degree camera and soft-close doors. This trim also benefits from M Sport brakes and a sportier exhaust note, providing a more engaging driving experience on UAE highways.

X7 vs Segment Rivals

The BMW X7 often leads rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLS and Range Rover in driving dynamics and infotainment technology, specifically through its intuitive Curved Display. While the Cadillac Escalade offers more outright size, the X7 is preferred by GCC buyers who prioritize a car-like driving feel and precision handling for inter-emirate travel. Its standard air suspension provides a level of high-speed stability that is specifically tuned to handle the expansive, fast-moving roads of the region.

Running Costs & Resale

The mild-hybrid 3.0L engine is remarkably efficient for a vehicle of this size, averaging approximately 10.6 L/100km on the WLTP cycle, making it a cost-effective choice for daily commutes in stop-start traffic. BMW's authorized service network is extensive across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts and expert maintenance are always accessible. While luxury SUVs typically see 12-15% annual depreciation in the GCC, the X7 M Sport holds its value better than most, often retaining over 65% of its worth after the three-year mark.

Performance & Capability

The 2024 xDrive40i reaches 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds, a figure that rivals many dedicated sports sedans. Its 540 Nm of torque provides effortless overtaking power, essential for the high-speed merges common on the E11 and E311. The intelligent xDrive all-wheel-drive system and standard adaptive air suspension allow for 221 mm of ground clearance, ensuring the vehicle can comfortably handle gravel tracks or sandy approach roads during weekend family outings.

Comfort & Cabin

This seven-seater is designed for ultimate GCC summer comfort, featuring a five-zone automatic climate control system that gives every row independent temperature mastery. The cabin is wrapped in premium Sensafin or Merino materials, and the second row offers generous legroom with electric adjustment as standard. Tech highlights include the massive 14.9-inch central display and the Panoramic Sky Lounge, which creates a sophisticated atmosphere during nighttime city drives.

Safety

The 2024 X7 comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including Active Blind Spot Detection and Lane Departure Warning, which are invaluable for navigating the multi-lane highways of the GCC. Standard safety features also include Frontal Collision Warning and a 360-degree Surround View camera with an automated parking assistant. The vehicle’s stability systems are specifically calibrated to maintain composure on high-temperature asphalt and in sudden crosswinds.

The bottom line

This M Sport X7 is the ideal opportunity for a GCC family looking for a nearly-new flagship SUV that has already cleared its steepest depreciation curve while remaining under manufacturer standards.
