Summary

This 2-year-old GAC GS3 Emzoom stands out as a sharp-edged, tech-forward choice in the compact SUV segment, especially in the high-spec Sport Plus trim. Its aggressive Grey exterior fits perfectly into the GCC market's preference for sophisticated, high-resale palettes while offering a mecha-inspired aesthetic that rivals lack. Driven 71,006 km, this vehicle has been used primarily for the long-distance highway commuting common across the region, yet remains well within the typical mileage window for a 2024 model in the UAE. For buyers transitioning from traditional brands, the GAC offers a surprising blend of turbocharged performance and premium cabin tech that punches well above its price bracket. The Sport Plus trim specifically adds the full suite of driver assistance systems that are essential for navigating the fast-paced multi-lane highways of Dubai and Riyadh.

This Car vs Other 2024 GS3 Emzooms

With 71,006 km on the odometer, this GS3 Emzoom has seen active use typical of a regional commuter, reflecting the highway-heavy driving habits of the GCC. While higher than some weekend-only cars, this mileage is well within the expected range for a two-year-old vehicle in this market, where annual averages often reach 35,000 km. The Grey exterior is a significant advantage for resale, consistently ranking as one of the most sought-after colors in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

SPORT PLUS vs Lower Trims

The Sport Plus is the definitive trim for GCC buyers, upgrading the experience with ventilated front seats—a necessity for the local summer—and a 360-degree surround-view camera. Unlike the base trims, this version includes the complete Level 2 ADAS package, featuring adaptive cruise control and automatic parking assist. It also stands out visually with 19-inch alloy wheels and a sporty quad-exhaust rear diffuser that lower trims lack.

GS3 Emzoom vs Segment Rivals

The GS3 Emzoom competes directly with the Geely Coolray and Honda HR-V, leading the pack with its 270 Nm of torque and a faster 0-100 km/h time than most rivals. While the HR-V focuses on traditional refinement, the GAC offers more aggressive styling and a more advanced digital cockpit at this price point. Its wheelbase provides a flat rear floor, offering more legroom for family road trips than many Japanese competitors in the sub-compact class.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages between 7.0 and 9.1 L/100km, making it efficient for long Abu Dhabi-Dubai runs while remaining manageable in stop-start city traffic. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from a growing authorized service network led by major regional distributors, ensuring parts availability and warranty support. While Chinese brands are still establishing their long-term curves, GAC's partnership pedigree helps it maintain better value retention than smaller entry-level competitors at the 3-year mark.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre turbocharged engine delivers a spirited 174 hp, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 7.5 seconds, which is remarkably brisk for its class. Power is managed by a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission designed to handle the high thermal loads of the GCC climate more effectively than dry-clutch alternatives. With three selectable drive modes, you can toggle between fuel-saving Economy for the city and a responsive Sport mode for confident highway overtaking.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is tailored for the region's extreme heat, featuring a powerful automatic climate control system with dedicated rear vents and ventilated front seats in this Sport Plus trim. High-quality materials like leather-accented upholstery and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless smartphone mirroring provide a premium atmosphere. The mecha-inspired interior design is complemented by multi-color ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof with an electric sunshade to manage cabin temperature.

Safety

The 2024 GS3 Emzoom holds a 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating, backed by a robust suite of six airbags and a high-strength steel cage. Standard safety tech on this trim includes Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and Blind Spot Detection, which are invaluable for safety on high-speed desert highways. The 360-degree camera system features a 'transparent vehicle' mode, making it exceptionally easy to navigate tight urban parking spots and high curbs.

The bottom line

This GS3 Emzoom Sport Plus is the ideal choice for a tech-focused professional seeking a stylish, high-performance crossover that is fully adapted for the GCC. With the initial depreciation already behind it and its highest-tier equipment list, it represents a smart, value-driven alternative to more expensive segment veterans.
