Summary

This three-year-old GS8 GX stands as a compelling choice for families seeking a premium seven-seat SUV without the traditional price tag of Japanese rivals. With its low mileage for a vehicle in the GCC, it offers a nearly new experience, while the silver exterior remains one of the most practical and high-value colors for the regional resale market. As the flagship GX trim, it provides a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system and high-tech cabin that handles both daily commutes across the Emirates and weekend desert escapes with ease. For a buyer in the GCC, the presence of localized cooling systems and a robust service network through authorized dealers provides long-term peace of mind.

This Car vs Other 2023 GS8s

At just over 20,000 km, this GS8 has significantly lower mileage than the typical GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km, meaning it has seen roughly one year's worth of driving over a three-year period. The silver exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, offering excellent heat reflection during summer and holding strong resale demand in both the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

GX vs Lower Trims

The GX trim is the flagship configuration, adding premium features that GCC buyers value most, including ventilated front seats and a massive 30-inch Augmented Reality Head-Up Display. Unlike the GL or GT, this trim upgrades the cabin with a 10-speaker Alpine premium audio system and adds essential safety tech like an automatic parking assistant and a driver's knee airbag.

GS8 vs Segment Rivals

The GS8 leads its segment in cabin technology, offering a 14.6-inch touchscreen that dwarfs the displays in the Toyota Highlander or Kia Sorrento. It provides a more commanding road presence with a 2,920 mm wheelbase, ensuring a more stable highway ride for long-distance travel between Abu Dhabi and Dubai compared to smaller crossovers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 8.5 to 9.0 L/100km on the highway, making it efficient for cross-country drives. In the GCC used market, the GS8 has shown strong value retention for its segment, typically holding about 50-60% of its value after three years. Authorized service centers are widely available across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts and maintenance are accessible.

Performance & Capability

With 400 Nm of torque, this SUV provides progressive pull for confident highway overtaking, even when fully loaded with seven passengers. The all-wheel-drive system features selectable terrain modes, including Sand and Mud, making it capable for light off-road weekend trips to the dunes or gravel tracks.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the extreme GCC climate, featuring a powerful tri-zone climate control system and ventilated front seats to combat summer heat. The second row offers quick-fold functions for easy access, while the third row can be powered folded to expand the luggage space from a modest 181 litres to a massive 1,859 litres for large shopping trips.

Safety

This GX trim features a comprehensive ADAS suite including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and autonomous emergency braking, which are invaluable for maintaining safety on fast-moving multi-lane highways. Passive safety is equally robust, featuring a high-strength steel body and a full set of airbags, including curtain and driver-knee protection.

The bottom line

This GS8 GX is the ideal opportunity for a family buyer who wants flagship technology and low mileage in a GCC-spec vehicle that is already past its steepest depreciation curve.
