Summary

This 2024 Santa Fe is a compelling choice for families, offering a modern, boxy redesign that maximizes interior volume. With a 3.5L V6 engine rarely found in current global markets but highly valued in the GCC for its smooth highway cruising, this SUV is built for long-distance comfort. The brown exterior is a sophisticated, dust-concealing choice that maintains its luster under the desert sun, supporting strong resale value. Compared to the smaller turbo engines of its rivals, this V6 provides a relaxed power delivery ideal for cross-emirate travel. As a two-year-old vehicle with average mileage for the region, it bridges the gap between new-car feel and used-market value perfectly.

This Car vs Other 2024 Santa Fes

At 93,394 km, this vehicle’s mileage is exactly what you would expect for a two-year-old commuter in the GCC, where 45,000 km per year is common for cross-emirate driving. While many global 2024 models transitioned to smaller turbo engines, this GCC-spec unit features the robust 3.5L V6, a powertrain known for superior heat management and longevity in the local climate. The brown finish is a premium alternative to the common whites and silvers, offering a unique look while remaining easy to maintain in dusty conditions.

COMFORT vs Lower Trims

The Comfort trim is the sweet spot in the lineup, upgrading the basic cabin with acoustic windshield glass to keep the cabin quiet at highway speeds. It adds key features GCC buyers prioritize, such as rear-seat climate vents for all three rows and a leather-wrapped steering wheel for a more premium feel. You also get the convenience of a hands-free smart liftgate and an upgraded infotainment screen compared to the entry-level models.

Santa Fe vs Segment Rivals

The Santa Fe leads rivals like the Toyota Highlander and Nissan Murano by offering a more boxy, upright design that creates significantly more headroom in the third row. Its 3.5L V6 engine provides a more traditional, stressed-free power delivery compared to the smaller-displacement turbos found in European competitors. Families will also appreciate the superior air conditioning performance, which is a hallmark of Hyundai's engineering for hot climates.

Running Costs & Resale

A Hyundai with GCC specs benefits from one of the most widespread service networks in the Middle East, ensuring parts are affordable and dealerships are accessible from Muscat to Riyadh. The V6 engine is engineered to run reliably on standard fuel grades, making it a predictable workhorse for daily use. Historically, the Santa Fe retains value well in the local market, typically seeing a depreciation of approximately 12-15% annually, which is competitive for the mid-size SUV segment.

Performance & Capability

The 3.5L 6-cylinder engine ensures effortless acceleration when merging onto fast-moving highways like the E11 or Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. With front-wheel drive, the vehicle is optimized for fuel efficiency and urban agility, avoiding the extra weight and maintenance of an AWD system you'll rarely need. The 2024 model features a refined automatic transmission that provides smooth shifts, making long journeys between cities a fatigue-free experience.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary from the heat, featuring a high-output air conditioning system with dedicated vents for rear passengers to ensure everyone stays cool during the summer peaks. With seven seats, the configuration is versatile, allowing the third row to fold flat for a massive cargo area during airport runs. Acoustic glass and thick insulation provide a serene environment, protecting passengers from both road noise and the intense GCC sun.

Safety

Safety is a standard priority in the 2024 Santa Fe, which features Hyundai SmartSense technology. This includes Blind-Spot Collision Warning and Rear Cross-Traffic Assist, both of which are essential for navigating the multi-lane, high-speed traffic common in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality makes the daily commute through city traffic significantly less stressful.

The bottom line

This Santa Fe is perfect for the family that needs seven seats and a proven V6 engine without the markup of a brand-new car. It is a reliable, high-spec workhorse that is already perfectly adapted for the unique demands of GCC ownership.
