Summary

This 2024 Nissan Pathfinder S is a modern family workhorse that offers exceptional utility for the GCC market, featuring a smooth 9-speed automatic transmission that replaced the previous generation's CVT for better durability. With its eight-seat configuration and white exterior—the most heat-reflective and high-resale color in the region—this SUV is perfectly suited for large families in the Emirates. Having covered 44,533 km in its first year, it is well within the typical highway-driven mileage expected for a one-year-old vehicle in this region. The Pathfinder stands out from its rivals by offering a refined, quiet cabin and standard safety tech that makes long drives between cities effortless. For a GCC buyer, the combination of a powerful V6 and Nissan’s extensive local service network makes this a highly practical and secure purchase.

This Car vs Other 2024 Pathfinders

With approximately 44,500 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been actively used, reflecting the typical high-mileage highway patterns of the GCC where 25,000 to 30,000 km per year is common for family SUVs. The white exterior is a strategic advantage for local buyers, as it retains the highest resale value in the UAE market and stays significantly cooler during summer months. It represents a fresh, current-generation model that avoids the steep initial depreciation of a showroom-new car while maintaining modern tech standards.

S vs Lower Trims

The S trim serves as the entry point for the 2024 model year but remains highly competitive by offering the same 3.5L V6 engine and 9-speed automatic transmission found in the top-tier trims. Unlike older base models, this S trim includes standard LED headlights, tri-zone automatic climate control for all three rows, and a comprehensive suite of safety tech including Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. It provides the essential 8-passenger capacity that many buyers prioritize without the added cost of premium sunroofs or leather upholstery that can be sensitive to the desert sun.

Pathfinder vs Segment Rivals

The Pathfinder competes directly with the Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot, leading with its user-friendly EZ Flex seating system that allows easy third-row access even with child seats installed. Its 70-litre fuel tank ensures long cruising ranges on the highway, a vital factor for cross-country drives across the GCC. While rivals often transition to smaller turbocharged or hybrid setups, the Pathfinder’s naturally aspirated V6 is favored by local buyers for its long-term mechanical simplicity and proven performance in high-heat environments.

Running Costs & Resale

Nissan Pathfinders enjoy strong value retention in the GCC, typically depreciating at a slower rate of 8-10% annually compared to European counterparts. Fuel consumption for the FWD V6 averages approximately 9.2 L/100km on the highway, making it efficient for inter-city commutes between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Maintenance is simplified by one of the most extensive authorized service networks in the region, with parts widely available across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. Standard service intervals are every 10,000 km, ensuring the vehicle remains in peak condition for the local climate.

Performance & Capability

The 3.5L V6 delivers 271 hp, providing confident acceleration and a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 7.5 seconds, which is impressive for a vehicle of this size. The move to a 9-speed automatic transmission provides a more engaging and responsive feel, especially during high-speed highway overtaking. With a ground clearance of approximately 180 mm and a dedicated Tow Mode, it handles family camping trips and light gravel tracks with ease. Its front-wheel-drive layout is optimized for fuel efficiency and smooth city driving, making it an ideal choice for urban-based families.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is designed for family logistics, featuring eight seats and a dedicated rear climate zone with vents for both the second and third rows—a necessity for GCC summers. Standard acoustic glass helps keep the cabin remarkably quiet, shielding passengers from road noise and wind during high-speed highway travel. The 8-inch NissanConnect touchscreen includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ensuring seamless connectivity for all occupants. Storage is a highlight, with under-floor cargo space and numerous cup holders distributed across the three rows.

Safety

Safety is a core strength of this Pathfinder, coming standard with the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite. This includes Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, and Lane Departure Warning to keep you safe on busy multi-lane highways. The inclusion of ten airbags and a 5-star safety profile from international testing bodies provides maximum peace of mind for family transport. Rear Automatic Braking and parking sensors are particularly helpful when navigating the large SUV into tight mall parking spaces.

The bottom line

This 2024 Pathfinder S is the ideal opportunity for a large family seeking a nearly-new, highly reliable 8-seater that is already optimized for GCC resale and climate conditions.
