Summary

This Nissan Patrol is a robust choice for GCC buyers, offering the legendary durability of the Y62 platform with a more fuel-efficient 4.0L V6 engine. At two years old with 65,780 km, its mileage reflects a typical long-distance commuter profile common in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, where high-speed highway use is standard. The classic White exterior is a top-tier choice for the region, ensuring better heat reflection and significantly stronger resale value compared to darker tones. As a GCC-spec model, it is fully optimized for extreme summer heat with a heavy-duty cooling system that rivals simply cannot match. This XE trim balances essential off-road hardware with the practical space needed for large families.

This Car vs Other 2024 Patrols

With 65,780 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been actively used for roughly 32,890 km per year, which is slightly above the GCC average of 25,000 km but typical for cross-emirate commuters. The White exterior is the most sought-after color in the local used market, providing a distinct advantage for future resale liquidity. Its mechanical condition is purpose-built for the local climate, unlike North American imports that may lack the reinforced cooling systems found here.

XE vs Lower Trims

The XE serves as the essential entry point into the full-size Patrol experience, providing the same 140-litre long-range fuel tank and body-on-frame durability as the flagship trims. While it skips the complex hydraulic suspension of the Platinum, it retains the mechanical four-wheel-drive system and 18-inch alloy wheels that many GCC off-roaders prefer for their simplicity. It includes standard dual-zone climate control and rear cooling vents, which are non-negotiable for summer comfort in the region.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Patrol leads the Toyota Land Cruiser in pure highway comfort and interior width, offering a more cushioned ride for long family trips between cities. Its massive 140-litre fuel capacity gives it a significant range advantage over the Ford Expedition or GMC Yukon when traversing remote desert stretches. Compared to its rivals, the Patrol's V6 remains one of the most reliable naturally aspirated engines in the segment, avoiding the complexity of turbochargers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.0L V6 typically averages 11.8 L/100km, though GCC stop-start traffic and maximum AC usage can increase this to 15-18 L/100km in peak summer. Resale value for the Patrol in the UAE is exceptionally high, with GCC models typically retaining 60-65% of their value after three years. Service intervals are every 10,000 km, supported by a massive network of authorized centers across the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts are always readily available.

Performance & Capability

The 4.0L V6 produces 275 hp and 394 Nm of torque, providing smooth power delivery for highway cruising and light desert dunes. It features a selectable 4WD system with a low-range transfer case, allowing it to handle sand and gravel tracks that would stop most unibody crossovers. With a 7-speed automatic transmission, it maintains low RPMs at highway speeds, making it a quiet and capable long-distance cruiser for families.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is configured for eight passengers, featuring a spacious third row that is genuinely usable by adults for shorter trips. Crucial for the GCC, the multi-zone air conditioning system is exceptionally powerful, with dedicated roof-mounted vents for all three rows to maintain consistent cooling in 45-degree heat. The cloth interior is durable and stays cooler than leather when parked in direct sunlight, a practical benefit for daily local use.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this GCC-spec XE includes front and side airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). It also comes equipped with Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control, which provide essential stability when navigating inclined terrain or desert dunes. The tire pressure monitoring system is standard, offering peace of mind during high-speed highway travel in extreme heat.

The bottom line

This 2024 Patrol XE is the ideal match for a GCC family looking for legendary reliability and maximum space without the premium cost of higher trims. Its strong regional spec and popular color make it a safe financial bet with excellent long-term value retention.
