Summary

This 2024 Nissan X-Terra SE offers a practical entry into the modern seven-seater SUV market, combining Nissan's legendary regional reliability with updated family features. While the 2024 model year is near-new, the mileage of 81,567 km reflects significant highway use common for long-distance GCC commuting, effectively making it a well-tested example at a more accessible price point. The crisp White exterior is the most sought-after resale color in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, as it deflects the intense desert heat better than any other shade. Compared to rivals, the X-Terra stands out for its straightforward mechanical simplicity, ensuring long-term durability and ease of maintenance across the entire GCC. For a buyer seeking a modern, safe family hauler that will hold its value through the next decade, this GCC-spec SE trim is a highly rational choice.

This Car vs Other 2024 X Terras

At 81,567 km, this vehicle has covered significantly more distance than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average for the GCC. However, in this market, higher mileage on a late-model Nissan often indicates steady highway cruising between emirates rather than taxing city idle time. The Pearl White paint provides a definitive advantage for future resale, consistently commanding higher demand than darker colors in the local used market.

SE vs Lower Trims

As the foundational trim in the modern lineup, the SE provides the essential 7-seater configuration and rugged roof rails that define the model's utility. While it focuses on durability with fabric upholstery and a straightforward infotainment setup, it retains the critical rear AC vents and dual-zone climate controls essential for summer comfort in the Gulf. It avoids the electronic complexities of higher trims, appealing to owners who prioritize mechanical longevity.

X Terra vs Segment Rivals

The X-Terra competes directly with the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Montero Sport, leading the group in overall ride refinement thanks to its comfort-tuned multi-link rear suspension. Its 78-litre fuel tank provides a superior range for cross-border drives compared to many compact crossovers, while Nissan's wider availability of spare parts in secondary GCC markets offers a distinct ownership advantage over American or Chinese rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages roughly 8.8 L/100km on open highways, though heavy GCC city traffic can see this rise to 11.5 L/100km. Nissan's authorised service centers are arguably the most prolific in the region, with service intervals every 10,000 km keeping long-term maintenance costs predictable. This model traditionally retains approximately 70-73% of its value over three years, performing significantly better than European equivalents in the UAE market.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 2.5L four-cylinder engine producing 165 hp and 241 Nm of torque, the X-Terra is geared for smooth highway overtaking and reliable family hauling. The 7-speed automatic transmission is a standout in this segment, offering better cruising efficiency at high speeds than the older 6-speed units found in some competitors. While this Rear-Wheel Drive version is road-biased, its high ground clearance of 243 mm makes it more than capable of handling gravel roads and desert camping spots.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is designed for family logistics, featuring a genuine three-row layout with stadium-style seating that ensures all seven passengers have a clear view ahead. The air conditioning system is specifically engineered for 45°C+ temperatures, featuring powerful dedicated vents for both the second and third rows to ensure rapid cabin cooling. Quiet highway manners are supported by improved sound insulation, making long drives between Abu Dhabi and Dubai significantly less fatiguing.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the SE trim includes dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) to maintain stability during emergency maneuvers. It features Hill Start Assist, which is particularly useful in multi-story parking structures and inclined terrain. The reinforced body structure and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) provide essential peace of mind for high-speed highway travel and family road trips across the region.

The bottom line

Perfect for the pragmatic family buyer who needs a modern 7-seater with the lowest possible maintenance overhead in the GCC.
