Summary

This 2024 Nissan X-Terra SE is a versatile choice for buyers seeking a modern three-row SUV that balances urban practicality with rugged foundations. With just over 40,000 km, it sits at a prime entry point in the used market, offering a nearly new experience while avoiding the steepest initial depreciation. The crisp white exterior is not only a styling staple in the region but is widely considered the strongest resale color across the GCC. As a body-on-frame SUV, it offers durability that many monocoque rivals can't match, making it a reliable long-term companion for family road trips between emirates. For the GCC buyer, the peace of mind provided by Nissan’s massive local service footprint remains its biggest ownership advantage.

This Car vs Other 2024 X-Terras

With approximately 40,985 km on the odometer, this vehicle’s usage is slightly above the typical GCC annual average of 25,000 km, yet it remains well within its mechanical prime. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, offering superior heat reflection in summer and ensuring the highest possible demand at resale. Its GCC specification ensures the cooling systems and air conditioning are fully optimized for extreme regional temperatures.

SE vs Lower Trims

The SE trim serves as a significant upgrade over the base XE, adding essential equipment that GCC buyers value for daily comfort. Notable additions include 17-inch alloy wheels that improve road presence and roof rails for added utility. Inside, the SE benefits from a 7-inch advanced driver assist display and cruise control, making long highway commutes significantly more relaxed.

X-Terra vs Segment Rivals

The X-Terra primarily competes with the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Montero Sport, leading the segment with a highly refined 7-speed automatic transmission that offers smoother highway cruising. Its 78-litre fuel tank provides a generous cruising range for long-distance desert drives, while its ground clearance is among the best in class for navigating varied terrain. The cabin architecture is specifically designed to provide better third-row access than many of its immediate competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.5L powertrain is engineered for efficiency, returning approximately 11.4 km/L in combined conditions, which is competitive for a seven-seater SUV in GCC traffic. Maintenance is straightforward with a vast network of authorized centers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, typically following 5,000 km to 10,000 km service intervals. Historically, the X-Terra holds its value exceptionally well, retaining up to 73% of its original price after three years, outperforming many European rivals.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 165 hp and 241 Nm of torque, this SUV is tuned for reliable low-end response rather than outright speed. The 243 mm ground clearance and specialized suspension allow it to handle gravel paths and light desert wadis with ease during weekend family outings. The rear-wheel-drive configuration ensures less mechanical complexity and better fuel economy for those who primarily use their SUV for highway and city commuting.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior features a practical seven-seat layout with theater-style seating that ensures all passengers have a clear view ahead. Nissan's legendary air conditioning system is a highlight, featuring dedicated rear cooling vents that are essential for maintaining comfort during peak UAE summer months. The cabin is well-insulated against road noise, providing a quiet environment for long drives between cities.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive in the SE trim, featuring dual front airbags, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Standard Hill Start Assist is particularly useful for stop-start traffic on inclines, while the reinforced body-on-frame construction provides a robust safety cell for all seven occupants. The inclusion of cruise control and ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) ensures stable performance during high-speed highway travel.

The bottom line

Perfect for the growing family that needs seven seats and rugged durability without the high running costs of a V8, this X-Terra represents a smart, high-resale investment in the GCC market.
